| | Moorcroft enthusiasts really got their bids in numbers, because this totally individual pottery item really sparked the interest of collectors.
During the early weeks of November, the bidding rose to £1,000 and we thought that might be it. But some astonishing and frenetic activity took place as the final two hours got underway.
The last part of the auction was broadcast live on BBC Radio Stoke's breakfast show, and the bidding went back and forth as excitement mounted.
Finally with just one minute to go to the 9am deadline, it was all settled - all done at.... £3,200!

Uniqueness... The Owl & The Pussycat piece's unusual design added to its collectability.
The eight inch tall 'ginger jar' features a design showing the owl and the pussycat going to sea in their "pea-green boat", as in the famous poem by Edward Lear.
The vase also includes a removable lid with star detail.
Designer Nicki Slaney said she used a design that she thought would appeal to children and adults alike, and it's a bit different from Moorcroft's usual floral themes. Last Year
