    Chwalinska 3-6 2-6 Andreeva

French Open champion Mirra Andreeva, speaking to TNT Sports: "I was obviously very nervous, being 5-0 up in the second set and I lost two games in row with some mistakes.

"I'm just happy I kept my composure, I kept focus and I felt like no matter what, no matter what the score is going to be - no way am I going to lose this match, no way am I going to lose another game or another point. I was just very happy with how locked in I was in the last game."

On how she was able to stay composed: "Honestly I don't know. The conditions were very tough, a lot of wind in a lot of directions. I'm just happy to stay focused and I was able to play aggressive and go for my shots."

On what Conchita Martinez and her mum said to her: "They didn't really say much to me yet. Conchita told me she was extremely proud of me and that we did it. Honestly, at this moment that's all I need to hear."

Mirra had more experience and she had a bigger game. She remained patient and consistent, yet she still showed us the raw power that she has.

We saw as a junior her game style and versatility at such a young age. We knew this would happen, and it happened on a court she loves.

Not only is she projected to move up 93 places in the world rankings, she's also doubled her career earnings in the space of three weeks with a $1.625m prize pot for the runner-up.

And to think she was struggling to afford accommodation in Paris at the start of the tournament before a sponsor stepped in to help.
