Cornish Pirates have signed loose forwards Jack Forsythe and Matt Cannon on permanent deals for the 2026-27 Champ season.

Former Worcester back row Forsythe, 24, has spent the past season dual-registered with the Penzance-based side from Exeter, playing 20 times.

Cannon, 24, who can play at lock or in the back row, has spent the past two seasons on loan at Pirates from Champ leaders Ealing.

He has gone on to make 44 appearances, scoring four tries.

"His [Cannon's] versatility is so important with our squad size, which gives him a good chance at being involved most weekends," joint-head coach Alan Paver told the club website.

"He's a big, physical man as we saw at the weekend and we're looking forward to seeing even more from him."

On Forsythe he added: "For a young man Jack has played a lot of high level rugby, both in the Prem and Champ and I still think he has a lot potential for growth.

"He's a real athlete and brings something different to our back row and that invaluable experience for high pressure situations."

The pair are the first new signings since American investment into the Champ club was revealed on Thursday.
