    Paul Rowley
Former St Helens head coach on BBC Radio 5 Live

Well done to Daryl Powell, it's good to see him so animated. He deserves this, he's done a fantastic job at Wakefield.

It's been a dominant display. A brave display from Warrington but Wakefield were worthy winners in the end. They were physically too good and execution-wise they were absolutely fantastic.

  2. Wakefield are back on top after 58 yearspublished at 20:01 BST

    FT: Warrington 10-23 Wakefield

Wakefield have conquered Super League for the first time, but it is worth remembering that this is one of British rugby league famous old clubs.

The swinging '60s was their golden era, and this league title is their first since 1968.

Ending that 58-year wait will be sweet for everyone at Wakefield Trinity.

  3. 'This team is incredible'published at 19:58 BST

    FT: Warrington 10-23 Wakefield

Wakefield's Max Jowitt has just won the Super League crown in his final match before leaving for York, and he quickly has a microphone thrust in his face.

He is visibly emotional as he speaks to Sky Sports, as he says "wow" then pauses.

"I don't know what to say honestly," he said.

"This team is nothing short of incredible."

There's a fire drill in the end to my right at Old Trafford.

Warrington Wolves fans have seen enough.

Now it's Matty Ashton who tries to blaze through the middle in search of a touchdown to try revive Warrington's almost nonexistent hopes.

He puts the ball on his boot as he attempts to skip through, but the kick has too much on it and the ball runs dead.

Surely that's it now. There is no way back for the Wolves. Wakefield are going to be the 2026 Super League champions.

  10. 'That's what makes the game brilliant'published at 19:50 BST

    Warrington 10-23 Wakefield

    Paul Rowley
Former St Helens head coach on BBC Radio 5 Live

That's what makes the game brilliant. When it's like this and when there's desperation.

Warrington are great at playing off the cuff because they've got some tremendous athletes.

Wakefield have got to keep their feet moving. You've got to stay connected in defence, but you really can't critique them, it's just brilliant attacking rugby from Warrington.

    Warrington 10-23 Wakefield

Warrington are fast running out of chances to save this game.

They have taken a particular liking to the left edge, and this time Toby King tries to skip a kick through. Max Jowitt, however, is there for Wakefield to mop the ball up.

  12. 'Warrington manufacture something from nothing'published at 19:46 BST

    Warrington 10-23 Wakefield

    Robbie Hunter-Paul
Former New Zealand international on BBC Radio 5 Live

When you're chasing the game you've got to take the opportunities that come your way and sometimes you've got to manufacture something from nothing and that's exactly what we've just seen there from Warrington.

Wakefield lost their shape and Warrington capitalised on it.

  13. try

TRY: Warrington 10-23 Wakefieldpublished at 72 mins

    Arron Lindop

Warrington refuse to let their latest sniff of a try come to nothing and Arron Lindop is over for his and Wolves' second of the night.

The ball is whipped from left to fight, and it takes a Hollywood offload from Albert Hopoate to set Lindop up for his finish.

Ewan Irwin, the 18-year-old scrum-half, fails to add the extras.

Is this try too little too late?

    Warrington 6-23 Wakefield

Am I hearing cries of 'ole, ole' with each Wakefield pass?

Wakefield style themselves at The Mighty Trin, and right now that is hard to argue with as they go into poised and polished mode to try see out this Grand Final win.

  15. 'Warrington have to score to keep belief'published at 19:43 BST

Warrington stand-off George Williams has a stern look etched on his face after he is judged to have knocked the ball down when Mason Lino attempted to offload.

The Trin get the ball back well upfield from the scrum and will be looking to put this Grand Final result beyond doubt.

Cries of 'Yorkshire, Yorkshire' ringing out from the Stretford End at Old Trafford!

This must be some kind of dream!!

  19. Postpublished at 62 mins

    Warrington 6-23 Wakefield

Is that Tom Johnstone try what takes the game out of Warrington's reach?

It was always a long way back for them, but from the restart the Wolves looked a little listless by their high standards and were again hard pressed to keep the Trin out.

The first league game I saw was a 34 all draw between Warrington Wizards and Dewsbury Celtic at Wilderspool. The Wire need to channel Harry Potter to get back into this!

    Michael, Wiltshire

Looking at Wakefield they have been on top of the game again so far I will be surprised if Warrington get back into the game

    Michael, Oldham

Always loved Wakey since I was a kid in the 60s. Great to see them doing so well again. COME ON!! You can do this.
