Wakefield have never won it.

So for the second year in a row, a new name will be crowned champions at the Super League Grand Final.

Trinity stunned Wigan tonight while Warrington edged out Leeds last night - but which of them will lift the trophy in seven days' time?

We'll be there to take you through the action at Old Trafford as the curtain is brought down on the domestic 2026 season.

Wakefield head coach Daryl Powell speaking on BBC Two:

"What a phenomenal performance. This is is probably the toughest place to play in the competition and I think we've served up some high-quality rugby league today with almost 100% completion from the game. There was one error in there and that takes some doing that in a game as brutal as this. So, I'm just proud of the boys. From the whole group, outstanding.

"The journey's been an interesting one. Obviously we got relegated and that was probably good for us to be honest. It allowed us to stabilise the team, get staff in and sign some players that got us out of the Championship and then we started to sign high-quality players.

"So, now it's a great opportunity for us next week. We've worked so hard this year to get this opportunity and we need to go on with it."

Wakefield captain Mike McMeeken speaking on BBC Two:

"I'm incredibly proud and privileged to lead these boys out week in, week out and to take in an experience like this is up there as one of the best moments of my career so far.

"I wouldn't have believed the score line, the result yes because we have that belief in the squad, how we play and the confidence in there, but the way the boys started the second half was phenomenal."

Wakefield's Tom Johnstone speaking on BBC Two:

"I feel like we came into this with everyone writing us off and we all believed from the start that we can go and do it and get to the Grand Final and here we are.

"We came here in August and we went toe-to-toe in the first 20 minutes and that just gave us that belief that we can come here and do it again. Obviously the yellow card's not ideal, but we've probably had a few of them in big games by now, so we got used to it."

I don't think anyone would have said before the game that Wakefield were going to come here and put a Wigan job on them.

Credit to them. They had a gameplan and they stuck to it. I think Daryl Powell brought his substitutions on at the right time.

The way that the game went Wakefield was on every loose ball and everything just went in their favour.

"I can't believe it to be honest. Wigan have probably been the best team all year so to come here and play like that is amazing.

"I've dreamed of being in games like this so I've got to give a massive thanks to the club and the playing group that I'm playing with - they've been amazing as well, they make my job easy.

"I can't believe how full it is here. It's great that the fans are all here. They have been massive for us and hopefully we're going to get a big crowd next week and we get the win."

Next week is going to be massive for either club. There's going to be a new name on that trophy and what Daryl Powell has done to not only instil belief into his players and instil belief the fans.

It's been a magnificent transformation. From a Championship side, to a Super League side, to a top Super League side and to a Grand Final side.

I thought the 10 minute period was key, but that is potentially and I think it's definitely Wakefield's best-ever performance in Super League.

Wakefield had a brilliant gameplan and they stuck to their guns from minute one all the way to minute 80.

They played Wigan at their own game. Wakefield take a bow, Daryl Powell take bow. You came here to do a job - oh you've done more than just that.

I genuinely can't remember the last time the top two in Super League DIDN'T make a Grand Final.

So much has happened in this semi-final that I've neglected to mention the following:

• Wakefield were in the Championship two seasons ago
• They're only the 11th Super League Grand Finallist

Wakefield have done it. They have shown Wigan up. And that's putting it mildly.

The Super League Grand Final next Saturday will be contested by two teams who have never won it - and one in Wakefield that has never reached the Old Trafford showpiece.

Adam Keighran's sin-binning will go down as one of the most costly in the modern era, surely.

After he saw yellow, Wakefield motored ahead and never looked back. Matt Peet's Wigan have been stunned.

Max Jowitt adds another two points with an easy kick right in front of the posts in the aftermath of Jazz Tevaga's shenanigans.

Almost full-time, now. And Wakefield are going to Old Trafford in style.

Jazz Tevaga is making himself a nuisance and winding up Wigan in these closing stages.
