    Of all the holes to make an eagle on - 17, when you're in that position, the nerves he must be feeling, never been in this position before, 30 years of age, and he's given himself the best chance you could ever imagine of winning the flagship event on the DP World Tour.

    Can you believe it? Manuel Elvira dunks in his eagle putt to move to 17 under.

    JJ Spaun's target lasted only a matter of moments.

  3. Spaun sets new clubhouse target

    JJ Spaun has a putt to get to 18 under. It's a long one but then he showed us exactly what he can do from range at Oakmont Country Club a couple of years back.

    He gets the line absolutely spot on but there's not enough gas on it.

    It pulls up inches from the cup but he still resets the clubhouse lead, which moves to 17 under.

    This could be way more exciting than what we thought about 10 minutes ago, when Manuel Elvira missed his birdie putt on 16.

    But all of a sudden what a chance he's got for eagle - and that can't be more than 12 feet on 17.

    Simply brilliant. Manuel Elvira produces when it's needed with a laser-guided approach that runs into around 10 feet to give him a good look at an eagle on the 17th.

    Could there yet be a late twist?

    What a strike that is from JJ Spaun. The 2025 US Open winner smashes a long iron and finds the back right of the green.

    He'll have an eagle putt incoming and he really ought to at least get to 17 under from here.

    JJ Spaun is going to have to move it a little bit left to right.

    This has got an element of risk to it as it does bring the water into play, but it's his natural shot movement.

    It was a weak putt, it really was.

    He had an uphill putt, so he could give it a good run, but it was a bit wishy-washy - it had neither the pace nor the line.

    JJ Spaun is putting for an eagle on the 17th. He has a point to prove after being left out of the United States side competing in the Presidents Cup next week but he's shunted that past and it trundles far enough past that he doesn't make the return either.

    Rory McIlroy will be very disappointed.

    If he'd put his ball in the position Adam Scott's was in on 18th he'd have the clubhouse lead and would be looking at possibly a play-off.

    Very disappointing to finish the way he did and he's going to come up one shy isn't he, minimum.

    Adam Scott signs off with a birdie on the 18th. But Rory McIlroy can't match his playing partner.

    The Northern Irishman, is down studying his putt on his haunches but his effort slides left and he ends with a par.

    JJ Spaun's to lose?

    Manuel Elvira has showed a few signs of creaking under the pressure over the previous couple of holes but he makes a scrambling up and down on the 15th to save his par.

    Pure class from Adam Scott, who splashes out of the bunker and runs his ball down to gimme range. The Australian will finish with a birdie, surely.

  16. Can McIlroy finish with a flourish?

    Sensational. Rory McIlroy goes straight at the pin on the 18th and just listen to that roar. His ball lands and spins and leaves a birdie putt of around six feet up the slope.

  17. Spaun hits the front

    He is timing his run to victory beautifully here, sinking a birdie attempt from 17 feet to move to 16 under.

    Rory McIlroy made an eagle on the 18th on Saturday, but he's found a fairway bunker off the tee today and he does not look overly thrilled with having to lay up from there.

    Adam Scott has 218-yards to carry to reach the pin but he's pushed that right and found a greenside sand trap.

  19. MacIntyre finishes with flurry

    Birdie, birdie, eagle.

    Bob MacIntyre has finished his tournament in style to rise to 13 under and in a tie for ninth.

    But the Scot will rue three consecutive bogies at the start of his back nine, which took him out of contention.

    It's a similar story for England's Matt Wallace, who eagles the 18th to finish on the same score.
