Aberdeen head coach Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "Our performance to a man [on Saturday] was excellent. The energy, enthusiasm and the quality when it was needed, and that's what I see everyday in training.

"It's now about transforming that on to the pitch. It breeds confidence, that little boost the other night hopefully kicks us on.

"I think we needed a little bit of freshness. Young Findlay Marshall has been brilliant every time he has come on and fully deserves his start. He gives us energy and scores goals from midfield, which I don't think we have.

"Toyosi [Olusanya] was at times unplayable on Saturday night so I think he deserves to keep his place and Gavin [Molloy] and Jack [Milne] are fighting for places all the time."

Kilmarnock boss Neil McCann tells BBC Scotland: "It was a really difficult night for us all [on Saturday], losing on penalties is horrible. The boys put so much into it and we came away with nothing.

"There's a bit of freshness, we've got a really strong squad and I feel it's been coming together in the last few weeks - not just in how we look and sound, but I can see it. We're starting to look a fair reflection of what we are.

"We were playing against Aberdeen, whose budget dwarves ours, and we went to Pittodrie and should have won that game. There's a positive.

"There's enough positives for me inside the building. The outside noise is very stark, in terms of results and goals conceded. But I feel this group needed time to come together."

Motherwell manager Alfred Johansson tells BBC Scotland: "I was not happy after Ibrox, I wasn't satisfied. We want to do much better today and I think the lads have been doing well over a long period of time, so I don't want to complain.

"Jardell [Kanga] has been looking good whenever he has been coming on, so I think he deserves to start today.

"He is very determined. You see it every day in training, he has a lot of quality between the lines and he has the quality to turn and accelerate our game and find the last pass or even score a goal.

"Tonight is about our foundation - we want to be a humble, hard-working and intense team, and that's number one, two and three tonight.

"We have our style of play, but that's not enough to win matches - you need to put in all the effort and that's what we want to stand for."

Saturday's trip to Kilmarnock proved to be a welcome break from the Premiership for Aberdeen, who progressed to the League Cup semis.

The Dons dug in with 10 men and should have won the tie before they ultimately came out on top in a dramatic penalty shootout.

The stats don't look favourable for them heading to Fir Park, though. Motherwell have won each of their past three home league games against Aberdeen, as many as across their previous 16 beforehand.

The Fir Park side are also yet to concede at home in the Premiership this season and have kept 14 clean sheets at home since the start of last season - the most at home of any side.

Meanwhile, the Dons have failed to score in each of their past four league games. Indeed, since the start of 2025-26, they have drawn a blank in a Premiership-high 20 matches.

Hibernian head coach David Gray tells BBC Scotland: "There was an argument to go same again [with the line-up], so Joe Newell can think himself a bit unlucky.

"But the key is freshness, Joe's had a stop-start pre-season. But he was everything we needed him to be at the weekend, that leader. I still need that from him tonight.

"You can find narratives wherever you look, but we've played two league games here this season. We need strong home form and we've got a chance with back-to-back games before the break to try and do that.

"Neil [McCann's] teams are always very well-organised, very competitive. That won't be any different tonight."

The victory in Dingwall at the weekend was undoubtedly a welcome boost for David Gray and his players and they will be hoping to carry on the positivity tonight against Kilmarnock.

However, you have to go back to April to find Hibs' last league win at Easter Road. But they are strong favourites against Kilmarnock to set that record straight.

Neil McCann’s side are on a dismal run of form and their record against Hibs has been woeful in recent years.

But at some point this will turn, so the question is will it be tonight at Easter Road?

Hibs are unbeaten in 13 Premiership home games against Kilmarnock.

On top of that, Neil McCann's side have conceded 14 goals in five Premiership games this season.

The only sides in the 21st century to concede more at this stage of a top-flight campaign are Motherwell in 2005-06 (15), Gretna in 2007-08 (15), and Dundee United in 2022-23 (18).

However, if there's a stat that gives Killie some optimism heading to Easter Road tonight, it's that Hibs have lost five successive home league games in a row.

That's a first since August 2010. The last side to lose six consecutive Premiership home matches were Dundee from February to May 2019.

Falkirk manager John McGlynn has been explaining why he has stuck with the side that drew at Tannadice last time out.

"We played very well against Dundee United and we should have maybe got ourselves a bigger lead," he tells BBC Scotland.

"Wasn't so good second half, but I have plenty of confidence in the players.

"Hearts coming to town, they've been flying so it is a big scalp for us tonight."

McGlynn says they are "hoping to cause an upset" as they look to "get the monkey off our back" of winning their first league game of the season, while pointing out that their games so far have been against some of the top teams.

It's already been a good day for Hearts following the news Josh McPake and James Wilson have been included in Sebastien Pocognoli's Scotland squad.

However, head coach Wouter Vrancken feels Calvin Miller has been hard done by. "I thought he would be the first one selected," the Hearts boss tells BBC Scotland.

It's a bold 28-man selection from Pocognoli, which you can find more about here, but McPake and Wilson merit their inclusions after excellent starts to the campaign.

McPake is on two goals and five assists for the season, while Wilson has netted four times for Vrancken's men, who could jump into second tonight.

They travel to winless Falkirk, who have lost each of their past six top-flight matches against Hearts, failing to score at all in all four league meetings between the two sides last term.

Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken tells BBC Scotland: "We have six changes from the last game, but from the previous one not so many changes.

"Everybody has to be ready to help us get results and they did good on Friday and hopefully the others will do good today."

Asked about Yan Dhanda starting in midfield, the Belgian explains: "I am happy for him that he scored the goal and got minutes on Friday and, with Tomas [Magnusson] being sick, we don't have too much options and the belief is there that Yan can fill that role."

As for Falkirk, Vrancken adds: "They are a good side and I think they are too low in the rankings for the qualities they have. It will be a tough game for us."
