Hearts made it through on penalties yesterday, with Hibernian looking to make it two sides from Edinburgh going through later on tonight.

Tromso are forced into an early change as Leon Hien has to come on for injured centre-half Vetle Skjaervik, who went down under no challenge and is gently lifted on to a stretcher. It looks to be an injury to his left leg and hopefully it is not as serious as it looks.

An overhead kick from Brighton's Charalampos Kostoulas - it looks great, but was never going anywhere near the Tromso goal.

Kostoulas then does has another attempt and this one is on target, but Jakob Haugaard in the Tromso goal shows good reflexes to flick his arms up and make the save.

If it stays level, we will have extra time and then penalties, and Rangers have gone to spot-kicks in their tie with Czech side Jablonec in their Conference League play-off.

The league phase draw for the 2026-27 Conference League takes place on Friday, 28 August at 12:00 BST in Monaco.

The draw will take place in a joint event alongside the Europa League, with the Conference League the second of the two draws.

As with both the Champions League and Europa League, the Conference League will consist of 36 clubs. Scottish side Hearts are the only team confirmed so far, with the other 35 to be confirmed later today. Unlike the other two competitions, each team will play six league phase matches instead of eight.

For the draw, the 36 teams will be placed into six pots, with pot one being the highest-ranked and six being the lowest. The pot placements are based on the club's Uefa club coefficient ranking from the five-season period ending at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.

Each team will face one team from each of the six pots and cannot face a team from the same country as themselves.

The teams who finish in the top eight places will qualify for the Conference League's last 16. Those between ninth and 24th place will enter the play-off knockout round. The 12 teams ranked between 25th and 36th place will exit the competition when the league phase is concluded.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross has said the team "don't want to waste" the work done last season to qualify and hope to give their fans the chance to go on another "European tour".

The Seagulls appeared in the Europa League in 2023-24, their only other season in European competition, and reached the last 16.

"In these games there are no excuses, you have to do it," said Gross. "Last year was very hard to finish eighth in the Premier League. It's a tough league and we don't want to waste it. We are in Europe, we want to qualify and give our fans another European tour home and away, therefore, we need to do the job.

"We need to take our opportunities, we need to score. We are at our home with our fans, it's a totally different game. It's a totally different environment for them as well, therefore I'm really positive."

He added: "It's different to league games because you don't have another chance to do it again, so we just need to find the right balance between attack and defence.

"It's a game of 90 minutes or longer, stay calm, but also we are at home. We are strong and we should really believe in ourselves. We showed at the weekend what we are capable of. We have our crowd and we are really confident that we go to the next round."
