I covered the game against Villarreal and Rio Ngomoha was absolutely sensational.

I'm looking forward to seeing what he does tonight.

    Fulham 0-0 Crystal Palace

This is one of two games for Pierre Sage to save his job, if current rumours are to be believed. The second comes against Tottenham at the weekend.

With that in mind, it's an interesting XI the Palace boss has gone for tonight.

Georginio Rutter chops inside and gets a decent shot away but it's a straight to the gloves of Geronimo Rulli.

  6. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 19:49 GMT

    Bournemouth 0-0 Aston Villa

Amine Adli goes down inside the box under a challenge as he tries to meet a cutback. There's some shouts for a penalty but nothing is given.

  7. Postpublished at 19:49 GMT

    Man City 0-0 Brighton

Not much action in the Manchester City half so far but Brighton try to fashion an opportunity down the right-hand side until Ayyoub Bouaddi's tenacity pays off and he pushes Pascal Gross out wide.

  8. 'You have to look at the amount of games van Dijk has played'published at 19:47 GMT

You have to look at the amount of games that Virgil van Dijk has played and his age.

The one thing as you get older, playing the games back to back starts to take a bit longer to recover, and going back to that Villarreal game he made really uncharacteristic mistakes. Maybe it's a little bit of fatigue, and not quite being where he needs to be mentally.

Jaquet is a lot younger, he's also come in and played a lot of football but he has been magnificent.

As a partnership, particularly in the Premier League they have looked a lot more solid

Think there’s a danger that Liverpool will be bullied in midfield. Chelsea look to have a more experienced starting XI and Liverpool the stronger bench. C’mon you Redmen.

  10. 'Big night for Gravenberch'published at 19:46 GMT

    Liverpool v Chelsea (20:00 GMT)

I think it is a big night for Ryan Gravenberch because he was missing out when Dominik Szoboszlai was fit. It was always Szoboszlai and Alexis Mcallister and Florian Wirtz in the 10.

Now he has an opportunity, and I like Gravenberch, I think he's a good player but he's not a six. I know Liverpool won the league when he was playing there, but I think Gravenberch likes to be more box to box.

  12. Cherki in the moodpublished at 19:43 GMT

    Man City 0-0 Brighton

    Shamoon Hafez

Rayan Cherki has been the liveliest player on the pitch so far and he looks on it tonight.

The Frenchman is in the mood to cause Brighton a few troubles, having gone on a couple of mazy runs already.

    Man City 0-0 Brighton

No shot directly from the corner but it comes back to Phil Foden on the right-hand side and he tries the square ball across the box but it's blocked before it can reach the advancing Floyd Samba.

  14. Postpublished at 19:42 GMT

    Man City 0-0 Brighton

Rayan Cherki's free-kick is straight into the wall. The rebound comes back to him for a second bite of the cherry but this one is blocked behind for a corner.

  15. Postpublished at 19:41 GMT

    Man City 0-0 Brighton

Rayan Cherki is brought down right on the edge of the penalty area and he's tripped up by Michael Svoboda and wins the foul.

    A free-kick in a very dangerous area.

  16. Nyoni just 'wants to be the best'published at 19:41 GMT

    Liverpool v Chelsea (20:00 GMT)

Having [Ryan Gravenberch] next to him helps him massively.

I know Trey Nyoni's family really well. He's a humble young boy who just wants to be the best.

I remember when he was at Leicester City, his dad didn't put a lot of pressure on him, he just let him go about his business and play.

He's had to bide his time and it's hard as youngster to get your chance at Liverpool.

Piers @19:20 I don't think he is. It's still early, and we (Chelsea) don't need another manager merry-go-round; we need to have some cohesion in the team, and with the manager, yes, I think he should start Steve (Estevao), but I think you are jumping the gun slightly.

  19. Thriller or snooze?published at 19:38 GMT

Fulham v Crystal Palace (19:45 BST)

Not immediately the pick of tonight's fixtures, this one, but when the two sides met in September in the Premier League it turned out to be an entertaining watch, which Palace nicked 3-2.

Since then things are starting to look up for Fulham but the Eagles have been on a bit of a downward spiral.

So it could go one of two ways, this.

  20. Postpublished at 19:37 GMT

    Man City 0-0 Brighton

Rayan Cherki picks up the ball and powers through the middle of the park with ease.

Brighton just allow him to cruise past them and his low shot is saved by Jason Steele.
