This is farcical in the howling gale at Fir Park. Games should be postponed when the wind is this strong.

The Hearts fan opposite me is complaining after referee Duncan Nicolson plays advantage and the visitors give the ball away.

I just wondered if Hearts would play someone with more physicality up top, just to deal with conditions.

A fair bit of pressure is being applied to Beau Reus and he's already clipped a couple out the park.

Sometimes, you have to recognise it's not advantageous to continually play the ball back to the keeper.

    Motherwell 0-0 Hearts

Motherwell work their way into the Hearts box with some tidy passing and Jordan McGhee forces Beau Reus into a save at his near post.

From the resulting corner, Tawanda Maswanhise leans back and shoots well over the top.

    Motherwell 0-0 Hearts

Emmanuel Longelo breezes past Rogers Mato like he's not there and gets a shot off.

It's straight at Beau Reus, who makes a real meal of it before eventually hanging on.

You've got to feel for Vrancken, because he's missing top players - what a difference they would make to a starting line-up.

He's having to juggle things about, but he's getting something out of them because it's a decent game so far.

Both teams want to get it down and knock it about.

There's still no chances to tell you about.

Both teams are lacking a creative spark.

Brilliant defending from Moormann because if he doesn't get there it's a simple for header for James Wilson.

  13. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Motherwell 0-0 Hearts

Jordi Altena's cross/shot flies out for a Motherwell goal kick.

Both teams are struggling to get to grips with the strong wind.

Moments before, home defender Martin Moormann put a dangerous cross behind with James Wilson lurking.

    Motherwell 0-0 Hearts

Rogers Mato, having filled in at left-back for Hearts against Mo Salah on Thursday, is playing at right-back this afternoon.

    Stephen Kingsley is at left-back.

Emmanuel Longelo bizarrely lets a deflected James Wilson shot go out for a Hearts corner.

    My word.

Jordi Altena fires a hospital pass back to goalkeeper Beau Reus and it bounces off Reus' thigh straight to Seb Palmer-Houlden.

The shot is into the side netting though and Hearts get away with one.

  17. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Motherwell 0-0 Hearts

Motherwell have had all the ball so far without doing anything with it.

  18. KICK-OFFpublished at 14:01 GMT

    Motherwell 0-0 Hearts

Both teams could do with a win here.

Motherwell have lost five league games on the spin, while Hearts have lost their past two games in all competitions.

    Away we go.

  20. Hearts 'ready to go to war' against Motherwellpublished at 13:56 GMT

    Motherwell v Hearts (14:00)

Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken tells BBC Scotland: "[Christian] Borchgrevink and Harry [Milne] were injured from Turkey, the rest is fit to play.

"They showed the can cope with those circumstances, players out of position, knowing what to do, giving the best of themselves. Today we have to show it, stick together and push for a result.

"The wind is still increasing, I hope not too much. Everybody wants to see a football game. I said to the players, they have to adapt and be ready to go to war in duels, with fighting spirit.

"You'll be frustrated sometimes but you have to keep your head."
