    Macaulay Langstaff (45 mins)

    There it is.

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

Walsall are seeing more of the ball now.

But there is that fear if they lose the ball, Salford can hit them on the break.

It has been very impressive from the League Two leaders so far but they are yet to breach League Two's best defence (along with Exeter).

  3. 'Walsall growing into the game'published at 20:39 GMT

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

    Sam Parkin
Former Walsall forward on Sky Sports

Walsall are growing into the game and had a few sporadic chances in the first 20 minutes.

You can see now though that this attacking phase has become more sustained.

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

    Salford stretch out of defence.

Kelly N'Mai bursts into the Walsall area and Declan Skura gets back to make a timely block before he can cut the ball back to a waiting Macaulay Langstaff.

I am not quite sure how we have arrived this far into the first half without a goal.

  5. 'Walsall keeping Salford on their toes'published at 20:33 GMT

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

    Sam Parkin
Former Walsall forward on Sky Sports

Walsall are starting pose one or two problems.

They are keeping the Salford defence on their toes, and it is just the variation in their attack.

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

Mason Hancock clips a lovely pass into the area for Tai Sodje.

The Walsall man controls well but slices his shot on the turn well wide of the target.

    Better from the home side.

Walsall just cannot keep hold of the ball.

They give it away again but Taylor Allen's cross is claimed by Jed Ward.

Home fans are not used to seeing their team being dominated like this.

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

    More incisive play from Salford.

Abraham Odoh cuts the ball back to the edge of the area where Brendan Wiredu's shot is blocked, as is Elliot Bonds' follow up.

A goal cannot be too far away the way things are going...

  9. 'Optimistic shot from Salford'published at 20:23 GMT

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

    Sam Parkin
Former Walsall forward on Sky Sports

Once again Salford are finding one of those players playing off the centre-forward.

It is another optimistic shot from Salford - but it definitely tested the Walsall keeper.

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

Jed Ward has to beat away Jorge Grant's shot.

Elliot Bonds then handles the ball on the floor when feeling he has been fouled - he wasn't and is warned.

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

    So close for Walsall.

Aaron Pressley is sent away and shoots across goal, just wide of the far post.

Will Norris apparently got a touch on it but claims he didn't.

Replays suggest the Salford goalkeeper is telling the truth - not often a 'keeper denies making a very good save.

The corner is cleared so no harm done.

  12. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

This is Walsall's second best start to a season with 11 games unbeaten so far.

Their best is the 13 managed at the start of the 1979-80 season.

The credentials of Lee Grant's side are being given a stern test already.

Sven Sprangler clatters into the visitors' Elliot Bonds and is spoken to by referee Martin Coy.

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

A brilliant cross is swung right under Jed Ward's crossbar from the corner won by Luke Molyneux.

Brendan Wiredu gets his head on it but puts it over.

If anything the Salford man got too good a connection on that.

  14. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

It is quiet among the home fans and you can see why - their side are being outplayed all over the pitch.

Salford are seeking a seventh successive EFL win for the first time since winning promotion.

Luke Molyneux earns a corner for The Ammies.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 11 mins

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

Salford carve their way through the home side again.

Luke Molyneux cuts in from the right and sends in a shot which is arrowing towards the top corner and Jed Ward pulls out a top stop to tip it over.

These two have never played out a 0-0 in the league by the way.

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

Walsall are just trying to take the sting out of Salford by holding on to possession.

The visitors are swarming all over them to try to win it back and the home side manage to play through them.

Aaron Pressley spreads the ball wide and when Tai Sodje flicks on a cross, Pressley is there to send a dipping volley over the crossbar.

I know I am tempting fate but going by the opening 10 minutes, this will surely not finish goalless.

  17. 'Walsall a little bit lackadaisical'published at 20:09 GMT

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

    Sam Parkin
Former Walsall forward on Sky Sports

We saw a bit of Walsall warming up in a back three in the hope to match up with Salford.

But Salford are a sharp side that are aggressive, and want to attack the ball. Walsall just seem a little bit lackadaisical.

  18. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

    This is very lively.

Jorge Grant nicks the ball off the home side from a throw-in.

Macaulay Langstaff's first shot is blocked and the second one he drags wide.

The former Millwall striker is Salford's leading scorer with four goals so far.

Interesting challenge tonight for the Saddlers. Lack of a recognised right-back left us unbalanced in the first half against Swindon and a poor team took advantage of that. Salford are clearly not a poor team so that may influence the game tonight.

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

Walsall finally get into the attacking third.

Reece Smith runs into the area before getting his feet in a tangle and ending up in a heap which allows Salford to clear the danger.

Both these sides are showing why they are in such good form
