Another day, another Chelsea signing.

The Blues confirmed earlier today that they have signed Argentina World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emi Martinez, who turns 34 on Wednesday, from Aston Villa.

His arrival, for a fee believed to be £7.5m, will be welcomed by many Blues fans who have become frustrated with the performances of Robert Sanchez.

"Coming to Chelsea, for me and my family, was an easy decision to make and I’m just over the moon - I can’t wait to get started," said Martinez.

He goes straight into Chelsea's starting XI which means he must have been registered on Friday - even though his signing was only officially announced today.

According to Premier League rules, a player needs to be registered with the Premier League by midday of the last working day, external before the date of the next Premier League match.

For matches on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, the deadline would be midday Friday.

Sunderland make one change from their last league match as Luke O'Nien, whose mistake gifted Ipswich a goal in the Black Cats' 2-1 loss in their opener, is replaced by Nordi Mukiele.

There's two changes for Brentford as Jaidon Anthony and Mikkel Damsgaard both come in, with Anthony making his first league start for the Bees against his former side.

Robert Sanchez, whose future now looks uncertain, drops out of the matchday squad with young Belgian ike Penders is the second-choice shot-stopper on the bench.

Wesley Fofana comes in to replace Josh Acheampong in defence while Pedro Neto also start as Reece James drops to the bench.
