A lot of people have been putting the boot into Manchester City after their performance in the Community Shield.

I don't think they will win the Premier League, but they aren't going to fall away to mid-table either. Look at the players they have got - I still think they will be right up there.

I'm expecting Bournemouth to be very attack-minded under Marco Rose, after watching his teams at RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg.

He is a front-foot coach but, in his first game, will he really be brave enough try to go toe-to-toe with City at Etihad Stadium?

I think he will and, because of that, I think there will be goals... but most of them will be scored by City.

Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca has picked a starting XI containing six defenders for his first Premier League game in-charge of the club.

The system, though, looks like it could be fluid with an all-English midfield of club record signing Elliot Anderson, Rico Lewis and Nico O'Reilly.

Mateo Kovacic is on the bench, alongside Jack Grealish and Rayan Cherki.

Man City XI: Donnarumma, Khusanov, Dias, Guehi, Gvardiol, Anderson, Lewis, O'Reilly, Foden, Semenyo, Haaland.

New Bournemouth boss Marco Rose gives a debut to Portugal international defender Antonio Silva, who joined the Cherries from Benfica during the summer.

City linked Alex Scott also starts and this match could act as an Etihad audition for the Englishman.

This is an important season for Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden, having struggled for form over the past two seasons.

The 26-year-old missed out on a place in the England squad for this summer's World Cup and told reporters in Hong Kong during pre-season that he is aiming for a "fresh start" under new boss Enzo Maresca.

Earlier today, the academy product had a new mural unveiled across from Etihad Stadium in conjunction with trading cards company Topps.
