The players are back out. We're nearly ready for the second half.

Beth Mead was warming up with purpose during the break but looks like no changes yet.

There have been glimpses of what Manchester City are capable of and they've come close, with Mary Fowler's header hitting the underside of the bar before bouncing out, but they've struggled to really sustain that level.

Real Madrid have played well and had their chances as well. Still all to play for.

Man City have been poor defensively this season, way too much indecision especially from Greenwood for the goal. As good a strike as it was, it should not have been allowed to get that far into the box.

There's a deflated atmosphere at half-time because City fans know they are creating chances and look dangerous but it's also not an undeserved lead for Real Madrid. City need to sharpen up at the back.

Going into half-time, Manchester City are 1-0 down, but I think they'll believe they can score against this team if they can keep moving the ball and being confident.

I'm expecting to see a different Manchester City side in the second half.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:49 BST

    Manchester City 0-1 Real Madrid

Another Manchester City attack breaks down on the edge of the penalty area and Real Madrid breaks.

This time Linda Caicedo is not able to get away as Jade Rose, back on after that check, matches her for pace.

And that's half-time. Madrid lead through Caicedo and, on the balance of play, you'd have to say they deserve it.

We've got a brief delay as City defender Jade Rose goes down with what seems to be a head injury.

Play is going to resume as Rose goes through the concussion checks.

Do you think City have half a mind on outside problems, because they seem not quite switched on enough?

    Much better from Manchester City.

They get deep into the Real Madrid box, Bunny Shaw lays it back and Yui Hasegawa is there with so much time and space.

The shot is a powerful one but Maelle Lakrar gets in the way of it - it looks like with her face. Corner.

Real Madrid not just playing with confidence.

Some superb dancing was on offer after that goal too.

A welcome spell of possession for Manchester City but it comes to nothing as Bunny Shaw is unable to bring down Lauren Hemp's cross from the left.

    Manchester City 0-1 Real Madrid

Real Madrid are playing with real confidence now.

Perhaps a bit of overconfidence from Felicia Schroder, though, as she goes for goal from 30 yards and sees the ball fly well wide.

Alex Greenwood looked pretty deflated. She probably did the right thing, closing the angle down and forcing Linda Caicedo to stay a bit wide in the hope she would cross it back across the six-yard area.

Instead, Caicedo shoots, but goalkeeper Ayaka Yamashita should be saving it. There's no way that should be going through her hands.

Real Madrid are pushing for a second and this is a spell that Man City just need to survive.

There's plenty of time left to get back into this one.

Why is Coffey not playing? Man City so obviously need her.

Caicedo has so much space when she gets on the ball.

The defence have to be wary of a player like her, you can't let her get on the ball and run at you.

Blindkilde Brown presses her at the wrong angle, she just glides past. Then Greenwood allows her way too much time in the box. You cannot do it.

It has to be said though, it's a great finish from Linda Caicedo.

    It's poor from Manchester City.

    The visitors lead!

A swift attack down the right from Real Madrid and Linda Caicedo skips past one challenge from Laura Blindkilde Brown, moves into the box and then arrows a shot into the far corner.

Alex Greenwood perhaps could have got tighter but it's a super finish from the Colombia forward.

City quickly go down the other end and it's Bunny Shaw's turn to threaten.

Her looping header has to be tipped over by Merle Frohms.

Schroder a real handful. This is just poked in really.

But she shouldn't be getting that turn. Jade Rose shouldn't be allowing that to happen.

City are looking a bit nervy here. Need to get some touches on the ball, just keep the ball for a while.
