A hydration break in Hong Kong.

Xabi Alonso looks very animated as he delivers instructions to his players.

To be honest, not an awful lot has happened in this game with Danny Welbeck's header the closest Chelsea have come to breaking the deadlock.

Geovany Quenda and Jamie Gittens have impressed.

A good ball threaded in behind the Manchester City defence and it comes across to Yago but good defensive work from Rico Lewis prevents the shot on target.

Does anyone really expect Xabi Alonso to be at Chelsea in 2030 after the Spaniard signed a four-year deal when he took charge?

The last Chelsea boss to last four years or longer?

John Neal way back between 1981-85.

Brilliant work from Phil Foden as he takes the ball on the half turn and gets the strike away with his favoured left boot.

You would expect that to be buried into the roof of the net but it's high and wide. Did it take a bit of a deflection?

Antoine Semenyo's ball into the box is targeting Divin Mubama but the ball is a bit deep and the keeper gathers.

Danny Welbeck has just headed Geovany Quenda's excellent cross just wide in the first real attempt of the match for either team.

It's interesting to see the link up given this week is the first that new manager Xabi Alonso has got more tactical having focused on physical conditioning beforehand.

We had watched them doing attacking shape work before this match and using new set-piece coach Austin MacPhee to try out new routines in an open training session yesterday.

An eye-catching start by Geovany Quenda.

The £40m signing has shown some decent touches and that cross for Danny Welbeck was a peach. He's also had an attempt which was off target.

A first serious attempt by Chelsea!

A lovely ball into the box by new signing Geovany Quenda but Danny Welbeck's glancing header is wide.

I'm not sure how much Xabi Alonso is enjoying this.

The new Chelsea boss doesn't want any new injuries at the start of the season but the opening few minutes have been peppered with fouls.

Joao Pedro is the latest to be penalised for grabbing an opponent.
