Lovely link-up between Reggie (Watson) and Reggie (Walsh).

Reggie squared? Reggie x2? The two Reggies?

Must be really difficult for Alonso to give game time to Chelsea's 200 squad players before sending 175 of them out on loan.

Satpaev strikes that ball a little too naturally for a 17-year-old. Has anyone checked his birth certificate?

After a blistering start, Chelsea have dropped their intensity and look as jetlagged as we feel here in the press box.

New manager Xabi Alonso is looking a vocal presence on the touchline trying to drive his team on.

What have you made of your club's summer transfer window business, Chelsea fans?

Morgan Rogers is in but of course we won't see him until closer to the start of the season because of his participation in the World Cup for England.

Who else would you like to see Xabi Alonso bring in?

Not overly concerned with the score, I just want Chelsea to play well and get no injuries.

Reggie Walsh fancies his chances from range and it's a decent effort and needs pushing away by goalkeeper Jordan Holmes.

Tosin Adarabioyo has a free header from the corner and he'll be disappointed with the outcome.

    Anthony Pantazopoulos (14 mins)

It's all a bit of a mess from this young Chelsea side.

Western Sydney Wanderers have a corner and it's a free header for Anthony Pantazopoulos at the back post to nod down.

Goalkeeper Teddy Sharman-Lowe catches it but he's well behind his goal line and it's a definite goal.

Landon Emenalo (son of the former Chelsea director), Walsh and Reggie Watson (son of Ben Watson) are big hopes for Chelsea fans. Hopefully they get the chance to show what they can do. Emenalo is incredibly promising and hopefully stops us buying a new left-back!

Chelsea are playing with Satpaev on the left wing and Kavuma-McQueen on the right. Walsh is playing as a no10.

In defence, Subuloye is at right back allowing Acheampong to play his favoured centre-back role. The usual 4-2-3-1 which Chelsea have mostly played since former manager Enzo Maresca's 2024 appointment

Ryan Kavuma-McQueen plays a one-two inside the box then strikes well with his left foot but it's a good save from the keeper to tip it over the bar.

Dastan Satpaev showed off his electric pace when running in behind German Ferreyra. He smashed it into the near post with his right foot.

Reminder: Satpaev is technically not a Chelsea player until his 18th birthday in August so is featuring as a triallist from his boyhood club Kairat in Kazakhstan.

    Dastan Satpaev (7 mins)

A really nice team goal to get Chelsea off to a brilliant start.

A lovely through ball from Ryan Kavuma-McQueen to release the 17-year-old Dastan Satpaev and he lashes into the roof of the net with a powerful strike.

His first appearance for the Blues and now a first goal. Dream start for the Kazakh.
