Match Facts
This will be the fifth meeting between Napoli and Arsenal, and first since the 2018-19 UEFA Europa League quarter-finals. The Gunners have won three of the previous four (L1), keeping a clean sheet in all three victories.
Napoli have only lost three of their 13 home games against English sides in major European competition (W8 D2), although did lost their most recent one, a UEFA Champions League game against Chelsea in January this year (2-3).
Arsenal have only won on one of their last six away trips to face Italian sides in the UEFA Champions League (D1 L4), failing to score in five of those. That one victory did come earlier this year, however, in a 3-1 win at Internazionale in January.
Napoli have lost just two of their last 21 home UEFA Champions League games (W12 D7), though did lose their last 3-2 against Chelsea in January earlier this year. Despite playing 37 UEFA Champions League/European Cup home matches in total, Napoli have never suffered successive defeats on home soil.
Runners-up Arsenal were the only team who didn’t lose a single game in normal time in the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League (W11 D4 L0). Indeed, the Gunners only trailed for 42 minutes and 48 seconds across the previous edition, which was also the fewest of any team.
Despite making it all the way to the 2026 UEFA Champions League final and playing 15 games, Arsenal conceded the fewest goals of any team in the 2025-26 season (7). Their xG faced per game was just 0.9, also the lowest total of any side.
Arsenal’s David Raya has kept a clean sheet in 53% of his starts in the UEFA Champions League (19/36), the highest percentage of any goalkeeper in the competition (min. 25 starts).
Napoli’s Kevin De Bruyne has been directly involved in 12 goals in his last 17 starts against Arsenal across all competitions (8 goals, 4 assists), including five in his most recent three (3 goals, 2 assists).
Since the start of the 2024-25 season, Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães has won 82 of his 121 duels in the UEFA Champions League. Of the 174 players to contest 100+ duels in the competition in this period, his success rate is the highest of any individual (68%).
Arsenal’s Bruno Guimarães averaged 2.2 defensive line-breaking passes per 90 in the UEFA Champions League last season, more than any other player (min. 300 minutes played). Meanwhile, teammate Martin Ødegaard ranked third by the same criteria (2.1).
