They could be in for a busy end to the window if all goes well in east Manchester.

Arsenal

Despite the signings of Christos Tzolis, Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa, it's been a bit of a frustrating summer for Arsenal with failed pursuits of Vinicius Jr and Julian Alvarez.

Mikel Arteta has been on the hunt for a real world-class attacking talent but it hasn't happened for them this summer.

They're still title favourites but will this hold them back in the Champions League?

It was always going to be difficult for Arsenal to improve the side that won the Premier League and reached the Champions League final, but if the Gunners don't bring in a forward supporters will be disappointed.

As the Gunners showed in their 1-0 win over Aston Villa last night in the Premier League, they have one of the best squads in Europe but there are still question marks over their attack.

Bukayo Saka looks like he is getting back to his best after injury issues last season and has scored in the first two league games this season.

But it is the centre forward and left wing positions where questions remain.

Viktro Gyokeres scored 21 goals in all competitions but sometimes looks as though he doesn't fit the Arsenal style of play, while Kai Havertz although technically gifted is not a natural finisher.

Arsenal have pursued Julian Alvarez and also Vinicius Jr but at this stage of the window it looks like they are going to be unsuccessful in their search for a game-changing forward.

Arsenal are in talks with Stevenage over loaning young goalkeeper Tommy Setford to the League One club.

BBC Sport revealed this morning that talks over a deal for the 20-year-old to join Las Palmas on loan had stalled.

And the Gunners have held discussions over sending Setford to Stevenage for the rest of the season.

But we do have a deal involving Arsenal. Maybe not one you're too aware of though...

Speaking of Julian Alvarez, that could've been a game-changer of a signing for the Premier League winners but it looks as though Arsenal fans will have to hold fire before heading to the club shop and getting his name on their backs.

We've got less than seven hours to go before the summer transfer window slams shut and there's plenty of las-minute deals happening. Here's a look at the ones that are not yet finalised and the ones that could still happen:

• Talks are on-going between Manchester City and Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez for a minimum of £120m.
• Speaking of City, their proposed £80m move for Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo looks to have fallen through but they have agreed a deal to sign Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye for £65m. That deal is yet to be announced.
• Everton have agreed a deal to re-sign Jack Grealish from Manchester City on a season-long loan. The 30-year-old is set for a medical with the Toffees with the move expected to be completed before Tuesday's 23:00 BST deadline.
• Julian Alvarez's potential move to Arsenal could still be one of the biggest deals of the day to watch out for with the Argentine's future hanging in the balance.

Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry is expected to join Middlesbrough on loan after extending his contract with the Premier League club.

Middlesbrough are understood to be leading the race for the 21-year-old's signature following an impressive spell at Bolton Wanderers in League One last season.

The move is linked to Boro's sale of winger Morgan Whittaker to Major League Soccer side Colorado Rapids, with the Championship club looking to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer deadline.

Cozier-Duberry's departure has been facilitated by Brighton's agreement to sign Millwall forward Femi Azeez. The Nigeria international is set to join the Seagulls in a deal worth an initial £12.5m, which could rise to more than £15m with add-ons.

Feel like every winger Brighton sign seems to be worth about £80m after a couple of seasons in the Premier League.

Brighton have agreed a deal to sign Nigeria winger Femi Azeez from Millwall.

The 25-year-old scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 37 games last season, earning a place in the PFA Championship team of the year.

Azeez has been pushing for a move to the Premier League, with Millwall rejecting at least three bids from the Seagulls in recent weeks.

His departure would be a club record sale for Millwall, who are set to receive an initial £12.5m - potentially rising past £15m with add-ons.

Millwall are working on a deal to re-sign attacker Romain Esse from Crystal Palace.

Esse joined Palace in January 2025 but has struggled to establish himself.

The winger could return to The Den before today’s deadline with Lions winger Femi Azeez set to join Brighton.

Newcastle take on Bournemouth in Saturday's lunch time kick-off.

I'm sure there'll be a decent few in the North East who can't wait to get a glimpse of their new forward.

French football journalist Jibril Diop has explained what Newcastle fans can expect from their new forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo: "His main attribute is beating his man one-on-one, take-ons, but he's also very good. He has that deft touch that you just can't teach. So, he's very good at, you know, in close control and running with the ball, progressive carries."

"One area that he needs to work on is on his back to goal, he's not very good with his back to goal. For someone who's six foot he's not very good at aerial duels, so that's where you need to be a bit patient if you're a Newcastle fan because he can frustrate you in that regard but he has that IQ as well that you can't teach, that deft touch I mentioned, so very high potential."
