  2. Rose gives Kroupi and Scott updatespublished at 15:14 GMT

Bournemouth v Leeds (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Bournemouth

Marco Rose was asked if Junior Kroupi, who has recently returned from injury, will be ready to start against Leeds: "We still need to build up his game time. I am really happy to have him back but he knows he has to be patient so he doesn't get another injury. We need to get him in a good spot with more match time and training sessions in between."

On Alex Scott's progress: "When we have the international break, we have two weeks more to get him really fit. He is on the pitch, working hard and has no problems.

"He hasn't trained with the group so far but I am sure he will in the next couple of days - then we will see if we bring him to the squad before the break or after, to maybe be more reasonable."

Carrick is not capable of turning this around. But I don't think there's a manager on the planet that is. Not with the clowns above running the club and making us a laughing stock.

  4. Thomas not ruled out of Sunderland gamepublished at 15:09 GMT

Coventry v Sunderland (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Coventry City

Coventry City head coach Frank Lampard has provided a fitness update on centre-back Bobby Thomas who was forced to withdraw against Fulham last weekend.

"He has a small calf issue, thankfully.

"Our worry was that you never know when it's in the lower leg, around the calf and Achilles region, but it's just a small calf problem.

"We're not sure about this weekend so we will see. We have another 48 hours.

"The injury is not a terrible one so we will see."

  5. Ndoye a doubt but Williams fit for Forestpublished at 15:07 GMT

Brentford v Nottingham Forest (15:00, GMT)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manger Oliver Glasner gave us his team news and said: "Nicolo Savona and Igor Jesus still out.

"Nicholas Dominguez is progressing very well but he'll train for the first time tomorrow with the team, let's see if the game is maybe a little bit too early, but he should be fine and ready for City.

"There is a doubt with Dan Ndoye. He felt after the game and the entire week, also the last week since returning from Switzerland with some hamstring fatigue. And so he's a doubt.

"Let's see if he can train tomorrow with the team and doing well without taking any risk. He is available and if not he will miss the game but then he should be okay for City."

The boss also confirmed that Neco Williams is OK, he said: "He trained from day number one so it was he fell on his nerve.

"He was numb and that huge pain during or in the game, but everything settled and so he trained the entire week."

Crystal Palace boss Pierre Sage provided a team news update ahead of Saturday's game at Tottenham.

On Jean-Philippe Mateta: “He’s ready to play, and we managed him yesterday, because he played two 60-minutes in seven days, and normally he has to play only two 30-minutes.

“That’s why we left him out of the team yesterday, to be able to play and be ready to start against Tottenham.”

On Ismaila Sarr: “For the moment, he’s not able to play.”

On Jorgen Strand Larsen: “We will see today – he will train with the group today.

“He’s trained individually for the moment, but today he will be ready to be with us.”

On Quinten Timber: “Tomorrow for him [he will return] and [he will have] maybe have some minutes with the team on Saturday.”

We got to this point because the board never backed the manager but in all honesty Carrick has to shield some of the blame. His tactics have been weak, it’s all fine and well backing a manager but results come first. And the whole mood is gone.

  10. Elvedi, Calvert-Lewin & Okafor 'available as it stands'published at 14:53 GMT

Bournemouth v Leeds United (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Leeds United

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has provided an injury update before his side's trip to Vitality Stadium: "I've got some good new team news. Nico Elvedi is feeling way better. He is back in training and he will be available for this game as it stands.

"It was also a good training week for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor, so if nothing happens then they are also fully available.

"Anton Stach is still struggling a little bit with his foot injury so we will see about him. I hope it will get better in the next 48 hours but it is a bit of a question mark.

"There is also good news with Joe Rodon. He part-integrated back into team training on Wednesday, so he is now in his next step of his rehabilitation. He will need session after session following a long period out, though."

On Dan James' fitness: "It is crucial that he stays fit and trains with consistency now. It is his second full training week and each day on the training pitch is important for his belief and his body.

"It isn't enough to just be available at this level, you also have to earn your spots to be in the squad or on the pitch.

"He was in my mind for our last game because I can see him improving day-by-day, but I decided in favour of Jean-Matteo Bahoya."

He added that a decision on goalkeeper Jack Butland will be made tomorrow, while long-term absentee Charlie Hughes trained with the team on Wednesday in what Jakirovic called a "miracle".

The defender continues to recover from the double hernia surgery he had at the end of last season.

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Michael Carrick on did he expect to still be in charge for the match at Chelsea: "I said it after the game, I didn’t expect anything. I was dealing with the performance and the result.

"There’s no hiding from the fact that the dynamics and atmosphere in the stadium was a bit different to normal.

"Going through that and digesting it, as I mentioned to you after the game, my mind was purely on what we need to do to improve things."

Carrick on striker Benjamin Sesko's fitness: "Unfortunately Ben [Sesko] looks like he is going to be out for a period of time.

"We are still not clear of exactly how long but it is going to be for a longer period of time.

"It is a process and as I said before we have to go through the process, there is a healing process for the injury to see how he would react and what direction to go with that. Even now we are still working through it.

"First and foremost for Ben for the period that he has had and tried to get through it. Going through it again and to not have him available is a blow but we will get him back as quick as we can."

  20. 'Bit of an edge, a hunger to do better'published at 14:25 GMT

Chelsea v Manchester United (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Michael Carrick on conversations with players: "Of course, that’s my responsibility, the players. The outside is not anything for me to focus on. I know what we can affect, I know what we need to improve.

"I know as a group, leading the group what help they need, a bit of guidance at certain times, and dealing with certain things. That’s part of my direct role is them, who I care about and can affect most directly.

"And of course we spoke. We have meetings every single week, but some of the meetings go in different ways depending on results and the situation and the feeling.

"The boys, I have to say, they’re hungry. We’re hurting because we haven’t won enough football games. But there’s an intensity, a bit of an edge, a disappointment, a hunger to do better for sure."
