Sadly, that's all we've got from Lyndon Dykes.

It's only early afternoon over in Charlotte, so he's probably off for some more golf in the sunshine or more hard work on the training pitch.

Remember, Scotland return to action on Friday when they head back to Boston Stadium to face Morocco.

  3. Tournament experience helping Scotland - Dykespublished at 18:16 BST 16 June

Scotland v Morocco (Fri, 23:00 BST)

    Scotland

Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes on what feels different about the squad at this tournament: "Experience. Tournament football is very different.

"You need to win points and games to stay in, but after the experiences of the last few Euros, the manager has come in a bit more relaxed.

"We've had down days and he's been a bit calmer.

"We've had youngsters come in, who haven't been in the squad very long, but it doesn't feel like they're new. They've taken it with both hands and we've eased them in.

"The whole squad has learned and gelled a little bit more coming into this tournament. Knowing it's going to be tough and relentless, but the experience in the squad and previous tournaments is definitely helping."

  5. Extended family time 'massive' for Scotlandpublished at 18:12 BST 16 June

Scotland v Morocco (Fri, 23:00 BST)

    Scotland

On the importance of spending time with family, Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes said: "It's massive. We're in such a bubble for such a long time.

"I don't know how many weeks it's been - it feels like forever - but seeing your family just relaxes you. You get a little bit of joy.

"I'm not sure if anyone was out in Boston after the game, but you would have seen a few of the boys out in plain clothes with their families getting lunch and a bit of downtime seeing the kids.

"It's a major role in the success, so credit to the manager and staff.

"I'm a family person, I like to be at home with my kids and my wife so the more [downtime] the better. It's lovely seeing them after being away for so long."

Lyndon Dykes' tale is one of many storybook stories within the Scotland squad.

He was playing Scottish lower-league football with Queen of the South in 2019.

Seven years have gone by in a flash and now he is appearing in a World Cup.

"Growing up in Australia, and playing all different of sports, and coming into football late. That was thanks to Queen of the South. Scotland gave me that chance to get to where I am now.

"I will be forever grateful. All my family back in Dumfries are so proud.

    "It's a dream come true."

  8. Euros injury blow helped Dykes growpublished at 18:05 BST 16 June

    Scotland

On what it means to be at the World Cup after missing out on the Euros through injury, Lyndon Dykes said: "It's a World Cup so it's a dream for everyone who plays football. Last tournament was a disappointment.

"I was, a little bit, in the same shoes as Billy Gilmour. I know how he feels with missing out on this tournament as it's a tough one to take, but in the long run it just makes you who you are. You grow as a person.

"So now, at this one, you take everything in, enjoy it and you want to have special memories."

Lyndon Dykes is a bit of an unsung hero himself, it must be said.

It is easy to forget that the Australian-born forward committed his international football to Scotland at a time when they were desperate for a striker.

Ten goals and 52 caps later...

On who Scotland's 'unsung hero' is, Lyndon Dykes said: "I think there's a lot, but I'll go Grant Hanley.

"He was brilliant the other night. He gets a little but of stick here and there but he's a true warrior.

"He defends the box brilliantly and he's a great character to be around for all of us.

"I was lucky enough to play a season with him at Birmingham City and he's a brilliant guy."

Yeah, after watching the early exchanges of Morocco's draw with Brazil, you couldn't help but worry about how Scotland would handle that intense approach.

There's no doubt about it, Steve Clarke's men will need to lift their level - and they know that.

"We were back on the training pitch today, working hard, as we have done all camp.

    "I'm sure more will come.

"They're a good team. They have world class players and they are dangerous. We have to be at our best as a team to make sure we get something out of the game."

  15. 'Get on with it' - Dykes on hot weatherpublished at 17:53 BST 16 June

Scotland v Morocco (Fri, 23:00 BST)

    Scotland

More from Lyndon Dykes on Friday's game against Morocco: "It's going to be hotter than it was the other night, but we've been out training for a long time now and we're used to it. You've got the water breaks.

"I think all teams are in the same kind of elements, so you just have to get on with it. It is what it is."

That randomly got me thinking about Scottish strikers who have played for Charlton.

Tony Watt? That's all I've got, I think.

    Anyway, back to big Lyndon...

Scotland v Morocco (Fri, 23:00 BST)

    Scotland

On why the Morocco game suits his playing style, Lyndon Dykes said: "I'm not sure? We all bring different qualities, individually as players. My strengths getting up the pitch and being that outlet.

"It's up to the manager to decide the team and that's what's been so good at this tournament. We are a team, we've got individual strengths, but we use them all together.

"Different games have different opposition and have different outcomes to the way we need to play. It's going to be a difficult game. I'm hoping I do play but whatever that is, it is what it is."

Steve Clarke favoured Che Adams and Lawrence Shankland in a front pairing against Haiti.

It didn't really work too well and there's a feeling the head coach will opt to go with one striker and an extra midfielder against Morocco.

Is Lyndon Dykes the man to lead the line with his physical attributes?

  20. 'I'm always ready'published at 17:46 BST 16 June

Scotland v Morocco (Fri, 23:00 BST)

    Scotland

On his readiness to lead Scotland's line, Lyndon Dykes said: "I've always felt ready. I've always done my best. Wear my heart on my sleeve.

"I'm ready for whatever. Whatever my role is."
