  2. 'Normal' for fans to show disappointmentpublished at 16:29 BST

Crystal Palace v Newcastle (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Mathias Jaissle on boos from the St James' Park crowd after defeat to Villa and whether he is feeling under pressure:

"Well, first of all I always said that it's a privilege to be the coach of Newcastle United.

"I would not say that's a huge pressure, I would use another word. It's a great and a huge responsibility to take that job, to also lead them throughout the negative period. That was something we were aware of.

"There were already positive sides in the start of the season. Now there's a setback at the moment, and you need to overcome that.

"The disappointment of the fans is a part of the game. They're passionate, especially our supporters, but they're great and then it's also normal that they show the disappointment"

  3. Steur has shown 'great potential'published at 16:28 BST

Crystal Palace v Newcastle (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Mathias Jaissle on 18-year-old midfielder and summer signing Sean Steur, who has been an unused substitute in Newcastle's last two Premier League games:

"First of all, we're all sure the whole club, the whole coaching staff, and I think also the players, know what great potential Sean has.

"He showed that already. He showed that also, like many other lads, that there are up and downs already here now in that season, but this is normal and this is something we are aware of already beforehand.

"Now it's time that he's getting that confidence, that matureness for a player who didn't have that experience in the Premier League also throughout the training sessions, throughout the training weeks, and we see that for sure as a long-term project.

"Now Nico [Gonzalez] was doing the job good on his position, so that's a competition, but he's waving with his hands or putting the thing up in training. So we are happy with his progress and he should just keep going like this."

  4. Jaissle 'hopeful' on Fernandez-Pardo and Elangapublished at 16:26 BST

Crystal Palace v Newcastle (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Mathias Jaissle has provided a fitness update.

On Matias Fernandez-Pardo, who was forced of with an illness in last weekend's defeat by Aston Villa: "Matias has still some issues health-wise so he can only train partially, hopefully he can make it until the weekend."

On Anthony Elanga: "For sure he's not able to play 90 minutes but he trained and worked really hard in the rehab so I count on him for sure, as he's hopefully also ready now to be at least able to join the squad. Then maybe it's the first time that also he gets some minutes."

"Maybe, we can change some things.

"Nobel Mendy is on the grass, which is good news. Our plan is for him to join us on Monday."

Arsenal v Everton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Everton

And here's Everton boss David Moyes on whether there has been any developments regarding his contract: "I think stability at a club is really important, and under the Friedkins I've felt a real sense of stability. Being a manager, I think they are a big part of stability - but we're also in a world where managers change very quickly.

"There's always been developments and talks [over a contract] have taken place. Things are a bit quiet at the moment and I'm guessing it is to do with the situation we're in."

  9. 'Baines, Jagielka, Cahill and co had to wait for game time' - Moyespublished at 16:19 BST

Arsenal v Everton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Everton

Everton boss David Moyes was not willing to talk about injuries, but he would be drawn on the game time of Tyler Dibling, Hayden Hackney and Tyrique George: "We think a lot about them and we watch them train every day. We also judge on how the team has done on a Saturday and if someone is due a change.

"My history would suggest that Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka, Joleon Lescott and Tim Cahill might have had to wait a bit of time to become first-team regulars - I'm not saying these boys have to do that but hopefully they develop as well as those boys did."

  10. Arsenal's record with and without Sakapublished at 16:17 BST

A final word from Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola on the impact of Lewis Koumas, Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni breaking into the first team:

“I think they are supporting each other. You could feel it straight away, even in pre-season and the ones who played the games.

"You could feel after their performances they were looking at each other, praising each other and when they see one of them getting a start in the Champions League or in the Premier League and maybe it’s not themselves, but they feel it like ‘OK I am close to being there’ and it’s something that’s going to be good for them, and also good for the ones in the second team who are looking and have played with them."

On the outside reaction to Ngumoha's recent performances: “I think every player has to focus on performances – on keep doing well, improve the things they can improve. The outside noise, when it’s good, when it’s bad, I think it affects, obviously, but we have to not be affected by those things.

"Continue to do your job as good as you can, improve the things you can improve - don’t be affected by the things you hear.”

  13. 'We need points wherever we can get them'published at 16:10 BST

Liverpool v Brighton (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola on chasing his first league win at Anfield: “I want to win games. Home, away, we need points wherever we can get them. It's true that the three games we haven’t won, but also our three games [wins in other competitions] have been high level games – Atletico, Villarreal, Spurs – and we won them with good performances at home also.

"We play at home the next two [Premier League] games so I would love to win them, but if we were playing away I would say the same.”

  14. Barcola back, Munoz unlikely - team newspublished at 16:08 BST

Liverpool v Brighton (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola has confirmed that winger Bradley Barcola trained today and is fit for Sunday's match at home to Brighton on Sunday.

The France forward was a potential doubt after carrying out individual training on Thursday.

However, Iraola said it will be "difficult" for Victor Munoz to be ready in time.

The winger is still dealing with "some pain" following a knock he picked up against Brentford last week.

Dominik Szoboszlai also remains unavailable but Iraola says the midfielder isn't far from a return to full training.

Get Involved - 'Villa Park scarier than visiting Anfield'published at 16:04 BST

Click 'Get Involved' to have your say

I'm not at all confident about Villa Park. It's scarier than visiting Anfield at this point. Villa did the double over us last year but I don't think we performed badly in either fixture. They're a quality side under the league's best manager, who knows how it'll go.

Aston Villa have confirmed that in-form summer signing Johan Manzambi will face a late fitness test ahead of Saturday's game against Manchester City.

On other team news, Emery said: "Some players clearly out like Amadou Onana, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Matteo Ruggeri. Other players we will see how they are after the match we played on Wednesday and so on.

"They were with some pain, but I can't tell you now until after the training session this afternoon."

  18. The key there is the coach - Emery on Man Citypublished at 15:58 BST

Aston Villa v Man City (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery on facing Manchester City:

"I think the key there is the coach. Enzo Maresca is doing a fantastic job. He worked with Guardiola, he worked in Leicester, successful, in Chelsea, successful.

"And now he knows Manchester City players - the culture, the club. And he is following the same way they did before with Guardiola. I think this is the key.

"They are favourite with Arsenal. The last year Manchester City and Arsenal they are so strong, so competitive in everything. The identity is clear. So we dream sometimes to be close to them.

"They have 21 points, we have eight. Game seven, the difference is so big. Because they started fantastic."

  19. Can Maresca's Man City extend winning start at in-form Villa?published at 15:56 BST

Aston Villa v Man City (Sat, 12:30 BST)

OK, let's move on to another tasty Premier League head-to-head this weekend - Aston Villa v Manchester City.

Enzo Maresca became the first manager to win his opening seven Premier League fixtures at a new club when guiding City to a 3-2 victory at home to Ipswich last weekend.

If the Italian is to extend that record then the table toppers will have to get the better of a Villa side that is also brimming with confidence.

After selling a host of key players over the summer, Unai Emery has had to rebuild his squad.

They started the season with three consecutive defeats, but have since lost just one of their last nine matches in all competitions.

Villa moved up to 12th in the table with a 1-0 victory at Newcastle in their last match and could break into the top half if they can beat City at Villa Park in Saturday's early kick-off.

Emery's side have beaten City at home in the league for the past three seasons and not lost to them at Villa Park in the league since 1 December 2021.

  20. 'We need to have good emotional control'published at 15:54 BST

Chelsea v Tottenham (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Chelsea

And here's Xabi Alonso on his first taste of the rivalry between Chelsea and Spurs: "Every derby is special, you feel the energy and excitement from the stands. We need to use that energy on the pitch because we need to connect well. We need to have good emotional control as well because there is a lot of passion and commitment from both sides. Playing football with heart is what we want."

On opposite number Roberto de Zerbi: "He has very clear ideas. It is still early days with many things to play in the season. We will see tomorrow."

On Chelsea's very strong Premier League record against Spurs, including winning each of their last six meetings: "I knew about it but tomorrow is another game. We need to prove again that we can continue that run and knowing it is a special game so we need to play with heart, head and intelligence."
