An unusual evening, a game full of passion but lacking a real spark.

Wimbledon's unbeaten run, and impenetrable defence, against MK continues and they are at opposite ends of the table, for now, though the match itself suggests they might end up rather closer than they currently are.

MK Dons boss Paul Warne speaking to Sky Sports:

"I’m disappointed. Maybe the tension of the game spoiled the game. I didn’t think we were good on our set-pieces but the lads did as we wanted.

"I felt we played better in the second half but apart from Aaron Collins’ chance I don’t think we forced them into many saves. In normal circumstances a point away is good but that elusive win, it felt like a set-piece was going to win it or lose it and neither team got it hence why it was a 0-0 bore off.

"Tension brings a level of anxiety that no-one wants to make a mistake. There were loads of stop starts that ruined the game. Sometimes when the game’s got a lot on it, it might take a bit of quality off it.

"Both sets of players gave everything but neither team did enough to win it. We need to get ourselves on a run of wins. We now have two weeks off, it’s a good time to get back and work with the team."

MK Dons seem to be staking an early claim for this with a remarkable six draws from their opening seven games! If you're glass half-full I guess it's only one defeat in seven...

Wimbledon are into the top-five and have yet to concede a goal at home this season, but they might not stay there long with 11 matches still to come this Saturday.

MK have only lost once all season but the six draws mean they are in danger of falling into the drop-zone, if not on Saturday then soon - Paul Warne's men don't play again until 10 October due to their two games during the international break being postponed.

It feels about right. MK Dons probably had the better of the second half, Wimbledon were better in the first.

It feels like the same old story for the home side, defensively they are very disciplined and don't look like conceding but they didn't really look like scoring. Stockley had the chance towards the end but they didn't give him a lot of service today.

That was a proper game of football, the only thing we were missing was goals.

You can't really say MK didn't give absolutely everything to that one.

It was pretty even for a lot of it, and either side could have taken the spoils there.

I think Paul Warne will say we could have won that one, but on the balance of play, the result is probably fair.

Just a spot of housekeeping, Dons boss Johnnie Jackson picked up a caution just before the whistle for some form of dissent or other about the hosts not seeing advantage played when a free-kick was awarded.

The spoils are shared.

Both sides had chances to win it, but a point apiece is probably just about right.

MK keeper Will Dennis made saves in either half to deny Steve Seddon and Steven Sessegnon while Callum Maycock missed a good chance while at the other end Joe Bursik denied Callum Paterson and Sam Nombe and Aaron Collins headed over the top.

The Dons might have had a penalty for a handball against Curtis Nelson and the momentum swung one way and another, but in the end it's a third straight clean sheet for Wimbledon, a fifth in seven games this season and a fifth straight against MK, who remain winless after a sixth draw in seven league games.

Dujuan Richards curls it in but Alex Gilbey clears for MK and it's the visitors looking to counter in the closing stages.

TWO added minutes for someone to be a hero.

Wimbledon have a deep free-kick on the right.

Everyone is up, bar the keeper.

Under two minutes of normal time to go, but there has been injury-time drama in the past two league meetings in this fixture here... don't lose hope yet.

Sam Nombe almost bustles into a shooting opportunity for MK on the right of the Dons area but Dan Sweeney nips in to take the ball away, and then heads away the subsequent long throw too.

MK have a corner on the opposite flank now, however, but Wimbledon deal with the set-piece and two follow-up crosses too.

Will Dennis strays off his line as a deep free-kick is nodded back across goal, but he's never getting to the ball and Jayden Stockley is able to loop a backwards header over the keeper, though it drifts across the face of goal, with a covering defender on the line.

Stockley looks to have caught an elbow in the face in the process, but his appeals to ref Richard Eley are waved away.

MK seem to be trying to take the sting out of the game by working it around at the back for a bit, just keeping the ball.

Dujuan Richards had a rather ill-fated loan at Leicester last season, when he didn't get much playing time, but the 20-year-old has looked very lively in the short time he's been on the field here.

Aaron Collins and Dan Crowley are withdrawn by Paul Warne with Ben Wiles and Ibrahim Fullah introduced for the final 10 minutes and change.

Lovely from Dujuan Richards on the Wimbledon right, who shows some razzle dazzle to work some space and then curls in a glorious cross which bounces just out of the reach of the stretching Jayden Stockley and bounces past the far post.

Just needed a touch.
