Newly promoted MK Dons have signed central defender Charlie Goode from Stevenage on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old was out of contract at The Boro at the end of the season and decided to leave after two years at the club.
Goode made 45 appearances in total for Stevenage last season as they reached the League One play-offs and becomes MK Dons' first signing of the summer since their promotion to the third tier in April.
He has previously played for clubs including Scunthorpe United, Northampton Town and Brentford - with whom he won promotion to the Premier League in 2021.
During the Bees' first season in the top flight, Goode made six Premier League appearances before loan spells at Sheffield United, Blackpool and Wigan.
"There's lots of quality here at this club, which also has huge ambition, and that's something I really wanted to be a part of," Goode told MK Dons' website., external
Head coach Paul Warne added: "This marks our first signing of the summer, a first of many, and it's great news to be welcoming Charlie to the club.
"I tried to sign him a few seasons ago; in the end it didn't happen, but I've spoken to him on many occasions – including after good results and congratulating him on the odd goal or performance – so it wasn't a difficult decision for me when I knew he was out of contract."
