Colchester sign forward Lubala on free transfer
Beryly Lubala made 12 appearances for Colchester while on loan from Blackpool during the 2022-23 season

Colchester United have signed forward Beryly Lubala on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old Congolese was most recently with League One side Stevenage, but was released at the end of last season having made 35 appearances in all competitions since joining Alex Revell's side from Wycombe in July 2025.
Lubala, who came through Birmingham City's youth ranks, previously spent time on loan at the U's from Blackpool in the 2022-23 season.
"The style of play they want to play, everything suits me as a player," Lubala told BBC Essex.
"The drive and the professionalism that they bring every day is something that inspires players. As soon as I saw that it was a no brainer for me to join."
Lubala also counts Crawley Town, Burton Albion and Northampton Town among his previous clubs and has scored 24 goals in 165 league appearances.
