Paul Walter avoids the dreaded 'pair' as a misfield gifts him three runs to get Essex up and running in their second innings.
Dean Elgar nicks a single to end the first over from Timm van der Gugten.

Jack White strays on to the pads and Lyndon James takes full advantage, flicking it into the legside for a maximum.
It takes the Nottinghamshire lead to 150.
Tom Giles will now face the hat-trick ball from Ben Coad.
Ooof! Coad jags back one in and hits Giles. Cue HUGE appeal.
But Michael Gough is not getting carried away. Clearly going over. Not out.

Out come the Essex openers of Dean Elgar and Paul Walter for a second stab at things.
For South African Elgar this will be his final innings before retirement - normally a study of concentration and patience he will need to come up with a trademark marathon stint to help save his side here.
Glamorgan can continue to attack with 376 runs still in the bank.

What a catch!
That absolutely flew off Ben Green's bat but Will Young's reactions are excellent - he reaches out a hand - and it sticks!
That ball was almost past him and it's a brilliant take - he takes the plaudits from his team-mates that are absolutely deserved.
Ethan Bamber the bowler among those saying thank you to Young for that take!
Bamber has 4-39 in the innings and 67 wickets for the season now.

A couple of fours for Kamran Dhariwal in the latest Keith Dudgeon over, the second run down past the slips to third man. The visitors are now just nine runs behind.
The older I get, the more the County Championship and its traditions resonate with me. Hoping that today sees Kent achieve promotion. In any event Adam Hollioake has proven himself a fine coach at Canterbury

He sends one down wide of off stump. Brett Hutton has no need to play it, but he pushes and edges to Dom Bess who grasps a really sharp chance at third slip.
The wickets have come with the final two balls of Coad's 12th over so he'll have to wait for his hat-trick ball.
Notts are in danger of ending their season with a second consecutive defeat.

It was a total miscue by Ben Green towards mid-on and Olly Hannon-Dalby tried to get around to it but couldn't cling on.

Looks like Derbyshire's second innings is going the same way as the first.
Wayne Madsen shuffles forward but is surprised by extra bounce from Ben Allison and feathers a catch to the keeper.
Allison now has 3-6 from five overs.

Just the 376 runs required to make the home side bat again.

Four wickets in the first hour for Yorkshire.
Ben Coad angles one in towards off stump, forcing Liam Patterson-White to play and send a thick outside edge to Dom Bess at third slip.
The lead is 144 as Brett Hutton walks to the crease.

LPW has been in good form with the bat this season and more than once has added crucial runs down the order.

Ben Allison is having quite a match for Worcestershire.
Five wickets in Derbyshire's first innings and he now has two in three balls in their second.
Harry Came edges to second slip and departs for 11 and Matthew Montgomery falls lbw to a superb swinging delivery.

Just the 29 runs added by Essex this morning for the loss of the final three wickets.
Zain ul Hassan gets one through Simon Harmer's defences to complete his five-fer (5-14).
Harmer goes for 35 - more than a quarter of Essex's runs in a pretty shambolic effort with the bat.
Karvelas run out 2 (Hampshire 128 v Sussex 244 & 301-9 – Sussex lead by 417)
A couple of quick wickets as Sussex continue to enjoy themselves with the bat - they've been smashing it around to all corners this morning.
Jack Carson hit four sixes in his 16-ball 28 before falling to Felix Organ, and shortly afterwards Ari Karvelas was run out by Nick Gubbins.
Sussex have added 85 runs in 50 minutes of play this morning and have passed 300 runs in their second innings.
