We're getting a template of the pitch now.

Every time it has been a touch short, it has gone for four.

Interestingly, England's fielding have people off the rope trying to cut it off, but it is flying past them.

Whenever England have hit a good length it has been hard to score.

Another short ball goes for runs, this time Pathum Nissanka pulling Gus Atkinson. The pitch looks good.

Catch that! Kamindu Mendis, after eight balls without scoring a run, takes on a Jofra Archer bouncer. It's not far away from Rehan Ahmed who is hurrying around at fine leg but the ball lands just out of his reach.

It has been overwhelming at times if I'm honest.

Some lovely, lovely messages that I have had.

Obviously, I am used to playing a team sport, but the other day it felt like, me, me, me.

Honestly, I couldn't have asked for better messages.

Jofra Archer was the only England bowler to go wicketless on Tuesday but this is an accurate start. After a single to Pathum Nissanka, Kamindu Mendis is kept right where he has across five deliveries.

Sri Lanka do have a bit of soul-searching to do for players to perform.

Sri Lanka needs to find more depth, and they need to evolve.

I think Sri Lanka has been slow in bringing out those new evolutions.

There is work to be done. Then it is working on the mindset of being able to do this day in and day out.

I thought Sri Lanka's top-order batters were also too defensive on Tuesday. It meant, tasked with a modest target on a tricky pitch, when they did lose wickets they had hardly gone anywhere.

Anyway. It's sunny. It's warm. Jofra Archer has the ball in hand.
