    WICKETpublished at 12:37 BST

    Stokes c & b Dal 53 (Derbys v Durham 182-5)

Ben Stokes is looking to turn this into the leg side but is through the shot a little early and pops a leading edge back to Anuj Dal who makes no mistake taking the ball in his follow-through.

A good little cameo from the former England Test skipper who departs having made 53 in 60 balls and leaves Durham in a healthier position than they were at 107-3 when he arrived.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12:34 BST

    Gubbins c Hill b Lyth 38 (Hants 106-5 v Yorks 173)

Adam Lyth has the breakthrough Yorks needed, drawing Nick Gubbins forward and finding the edge with one which leaves him.

George Hill takes the catch at slip and the game tilts back level.

Andy Gorvin bowled Ian Holland for one of three Leicestershire wickets to fall today

I'm sure many Leicestershire fans might fume at a low first innings total, and therefore no batting bonus points, in what feels like a vital game.

To boost their survival hopes, they would have viewed Glamorgan's visit as a winnable game.

But some context is needed. Firstly, this is clearly a pitch full of life - it's two-tone element with a green middle and shaven ends has caused uneven pace and bounce.

But Glamorgan played wonderfully - bowing with accuracy and relentlessness. Timm van der Gugten, Andy Gorvin and Ray Toole in particular constantly varied their line and lengths, and got the ball hooping both ways. It was an excellent team performance, with real variety among their three main pacemen.

Bar a comical run out, and maybe some Rehan Ahmed looseness, no dismissals were silly.

I noted that yesterday's match report started with the words 'title contenders Glamorgan' - it may sound a tad loony on the face of it, but from what I can see, this is a team playing great four-day cricket.

    Weirder things have happened.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12:30 BST

    ul-Hassan c Gumbs b Holland 0 (Leics 151 v Glam 4-1)

Important early breakthrough for Leicestershire as Zain ul-Hassan edges to Sheridon Gumbs at third slip.

The home side's captain Ian Holland is the successful bowler.

  5. 50 runs

50 for Ben Stokespublished at 12:28 BST

    Derbys v Durham 176-4

Ben Stokes drives with a thick edge through gully for four off Anuj Dal to get within a run. And now he has his half-century with a fine edge through the slip cordon to the rope.

That is 53 in 56 balls and has contained 11 fours. Not in the mood for running much this morning.

  6. 50 runs

50 partnership between Burns and Thomaspublished at 12:25 BST

    Surrey 75-2 v Nottinghamshire 184

Notts' bowlers have restricted Surrey's run scoring of late but haven't been able to make a breakthrough since the early dismissal of Matt Fisher.

Rory Burns and Adam Thomas have accumulated enough runs to bring up the 50 partnership.

Notts managed only one of those in their innings and that was ended on 56 so Surrey are well placed in a low scoring game.

  7. Postpublished at 12:24 BST

    Derbys v Durham 168-4

That was a cracker as Ben Stokes drops on to one knee to smash Nick Potts through cover for four.

And now he bullies another one to the rope.

The Durham all-rounder moves on to 44 from 51 balls and is looking in the mood.

  8. wicket

SUSSEX ALL OUT FOR 156published at 12:20 BST

    Hunt c Davies b Booth 10 (Warks v Sussex 156)

Jaydev Unadkat swung two sixes to give Sussex a few more runs but they're all done now as Sean Hunt pokes the bat outside off and edges Michael Booth low to the wicketkeeper.

A shocking morning for Sussex, who resumed 99-3, lost 5-1 in three overs, and have now been rolled for just 156.

But plenty was happening off this pitch, so we'll see how the Bears go with the bat.

  9. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 12:20 BST

    Surrey 68-2 v Notts 184

A difficult chance for Notts wicket keeper Kyle Verreynne diving in front of slip as he gets a glove to the ball just above the ground but can't hold on.

It wouldn't have carried to slip so Verreynne was right to go for it.

    Adam Thomas survives on 21.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12:19 BST

    Leach c Porter b Cook 5 (Somerset 397-9 v Essex)

He'll have to do it without Jack Leach, who becomes a fourth wicket for Sam Cook.

Cook is full from round the wicket and Leach, trying to flick to leg, gets a big leading edge that loops to mid-off.

  11. 50 runs

for James Rewpublished at 12:19 BST

    Somerset 397-8 v Essex

After a poor Test debut earlier in the summer, it could be a while before we see James Rew back in an England shirt.

But all he can do is keep the runs coming in county cricket and here he is again with another milestone.

A half-century in 89 balls with eight fours.

Can he squeeze out a few more with the lower order?

  12. Five-wicket haul for Ben Allisonpublished at 12:16 BST

Williams lbw b Allison 2 (Glos 150 all out v Worcs)

Ben Allison mops up the Gloucestershire innings as he traps last man Will Williams LBW.

A magnificent effort with the ball from the Pears bowler as he walks off with figures of 17.5-9-19-5.

    Career-best stuff, in fact.

  13. Postpublished at 12:12 BST

    Hants 97-4 v Yorks 173

There is a mix-up going for a single after Tom Prest, on 31, pushes the ball back towards the bowler Ben Coad and sets off for a single.

Coad tries to throw a boot in the ball's way and it goes under his foot but is picked up by mid-off who hurls the ball back in as the batter turns and tries to regain his ground.

Prest is 15 yards down the wicket but turns and runs back right down in line with the striker's stumps and the ball hits him on the back of the leg.

Yorkshire appeal to the umpires for what they think was a deliberate obstruction (he would not have made it home) but after a bit of discussion the game continues.

Probably the right call as he can't have done that deliberately.

  14. wicket

KENT ALL OUT FOR 350published at 12:12 BST

Milnes b Higgins 32 (Middlesex v Kent 350 all out)

Matt Milnes drives Ryan Higgins handsomely for four to bring up the 350 and Kent's third batting point.

But his innings ends on 32, when he walks across his stumps and tries to paddle-sweep it.

The end result is a simple bowled for Higgins, who looks a tad bemused by Milnes' decision making.

Anyway, the innings is over and Toby Roland-Jones leaves Middlesex off after his 5-71.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12:10 BST

    Zaib b Walkden 3 (Lancashire v Northants 92-5)

Great stuff from Ben Walkden as coming round the wicket to left-hander Saif Zaib, he gets through the batter's rather airy-fairy drive.

That's a third for Walkden on debut, who recently was playing for Newton-le-Willows.

He could be the biggest thing to come out of Newton-le-Willows since Rick Astley!

  16. wicket

LEICESTERSHIRE ALL OUTpublished at 12:08 BST

    Scriven c Ingram b Toole 15 (Leics 151 all out v Glamorgan)

Tom Scriven is hit on the glove by a rising delivery and is caught low at slip by Colin Ingram.

That gives Ray Toole three wickets on his Glamorgan debut.

The pitch has looked two-paced and Glamorgan know batting won't be easy when they get in shortly.

  17. 150 runs

150 up for Leicestershirepublished at 12:07 BST

    Leics 151-9 v Glamorgan

Tom Scriven turns one round his pads to the boundary to take Leicestershire to a landmark that looked some way off at the start of the day when they resumed on 113-7.

  18. Five-wicket haul for Toby Roland-Jonespublished at 12:07 BST

    Parkinson c Cracknell b Roland-Jones 0 (Middlesex v Kent 344-9)

The evergreen Toby Roland-Jones does the business again for Middlesex.

On the money and Matt Parkinson obliges by nicking it behind.

It's the 36th time in first-class cricket that the 38-year-old has bagged a five-fer as he remains a potent force in red-ball cricket.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12:06 BST

    Lees c Guest b Potts 63 (Derbys v Durham 144-4)

Lovely delivery from Nick Potts and Alex Lees drives and edges behind.

  20. Postpublished at 12:04 BST

    Somerset 390-8 v Essex

110 overs up at Taunton and neither side can force an extra point.

James Rew still there on 47 for Somerset as he eases Shane Snater off the back foot backward of point for his eighth four.
