If that is a sign of things to come, England might have cringed a little at that. That wasn't exactly the best technique from Ecclestone but Rana comes to an end and England will be happy to see the back of her.

Why on earth don’t India declare; 245 in the fourth innings is the biggest score to just draw. Bhatia has her 100. They could make a real statement here. Just as well it’s a dry spell with no rain forecast!

  4. Ind 298-6published at 76 overs

No signs of an India declaration as they take a couple of singles off Issy Wong's over - no-one on the changing room balcony is in whites, everyone's looking pretty relaxed.

Meanwhile we've heard that Lauren Bell has some abdominal muscle soreness and is being assessed by England medics.

She fires Sophie Ecclestone's second delivery past Lauren Filer at mid-off, with the England seamer slapping the turf in frustration.

I couldn't have wished for that hundred to have gone to a nicer person. I am made up for Yastika Bhatia. She has had a horrid time of it the last two years and she's getting back to the things that she adores.

We are seeing a different side where India are satisfied and they can declare when ever they want.

It has been a weird few weeks in England mens cricket, it feels strange that the announcement has come today. I suppose the first thing your ears are drawn to is that it doesn't sound like it was his decision.

I think there is a lot to unpick here.

    Lead by 402

Yastika Bhatia turns Issy Wong into the leg side and the India batters hurry through for a two - that moves the lead past 400.

Bhatia then smacks a shot right past Wong's head, the seamer flails at it but it's coming far too fast to be a realistic catching opporunity.

It's cut off for a single.

Here's how she reached the landmark.

Don’t understand why India haven’t declared. I’m all for the grinding the opposition into the dust but they’ve already got 150 more runs than they’ll need against such a brittle batting lineup. Plus there’s a very good chance of a whole day off in London.

  16. Ind 283-5published at 71 overs

11 more runs from Sophie Ecclestone's over as India up the pace.

Richa Ghosh strikes two fours in three balls, clipping through mid-wicket and then sending an edge flying over the slips.

  17. Ind 272-5published at 70 overs

Another full delivery outside the off stump from Issy Wong and Yastika Bhatia again dispatches the ball to the backward point boundary.

Eight runs from the over in total - India have added 22 in the three overs since the lunch break.

Brendon McCullum has been sacked as Test coach in another staggering twist in the unravelling of the England team.

Two weeks after Ben Stokes made the stunning announcement to step down as captain and retire from international cricket, McCullum's exit brings a definitive end to the Bazball era.

The New Zealander will continue as England's white-ball coach, but leaves the Test team following a string of poor results and several off-field incidents.

Director of cricket Rob Key will remain in his position, with the decision to remove McCullum coming after the hierarchy of the England and Wales Cricket Board spent time reflecting on the situation surrounding the men's team.

"I've absolutely loved coaching the Test side and I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved together," said McCullum. "There have been some unbelievable highs and a few tough days along the way, but that's all part of taking on a challenge like this.

"Of course I'm gutted not to be continuing, but I respect the decision. My focus now is on giving everything I've got to the white-ball teams and helping England keep moving forward."
