Brought forward because of something happening in Atlanta, the four T20 Blast games have brought plenty of fun and drama.

James Vince's scintillating 125 for Hampshire, a last-over tug-of-war between Notts and Surrey where the Outlaws picked the visitors' pockets in the latter stages and a superb team performance from the Northamptonshire Steelbacks.

But we must end with Craig Overton.

Coming in at 59-7, Somerset were toast chasing 162 to beat Yorkshire.

Craig-O had other ideas with his incredible 79 off 30 balls seeing them home with a ball to spare.

If any England footballer produces similar heroics across the Atlantic, we all want to see it!

On that note, let's head off and reconvene on Saturday morning at Edgbaston!

  3. NORTHANTS BEAT GLOUCESTERSHIREpublished at 19:51 BST
    Breaking

Northants (153-2, 17.4 overs) beat Gloucestershire (152) by eight wickets

Although they were cautious at times this was a well paced run chase by Northants who secured victory with more than two overs to spare.

David Willey finished the job off with a six followed by a two to finish 47 not out.

Gloucestershire did their best in defence of a total they must have known wasn't enough.

They were up against one of the most experienced and capable attacks in the Blast and couldn't build on an excellent innings from Ben Charlesworth who hit three sixes in a career best 68.

Their struggles in the second half of their innings was illustrated by Kamran Dhariwal's run out. Three Northants fielders had time to execute it between them.

The Steelbacks are through to their sixth Finals Day. They'll be chasing their third title and their first since 2016 but they'll hope Australian batter Chris Lynn is fit for Saturday. He had to retire hurt after being hit on the toe.

  4. 'A quite remarkable win for Somerset'published at 19:47 BST

What an extraordinary victory for Somerset.

A quite remarkable match-winning innings from a Devonian giant of cricket in every sense.

Craig Overton's done some great things for Somerset cricket over the years but none I would venture greater than what he has achieved here this evening.

A quite remarkable innings to secure a quite remarkable win.

  6. Willey leading Steelbacks homepublished at 17 overs

Northants 139-2 chasing 153 to beat Glos

One of the most experienced players in the T20 Blast, David Willey appears to be ensuring Northants get home.

If Northants get to the final it'll be his 200th game in the competition. He's begun to accelerate as his team get close to their modest target.

Lewis McManus is helping, pulling the first six of the innings in the 17th over.

14 more needed in three overs with Willey unbeaten on 37.

  7. Yorkshire stunnedpublished at 19:45 BST

Result: Somerset (162-8) beat Yorkshire (161-9) by two wickets

Yorkshire had this game all but sewn up after 15 overs at 82-8.

Then came a record ninth-wicket partnership in the T20 Blast!

Riley Meredith contributing just six off nine balls of it.

Breathtaking stuff, words not doing it justice, hundreds of Yorkshire and Somerset fans had already left the ground to get home early, never leave live sport early is their message from today.

  8. Fantastic effort from Outlawspublished at 19:44 BST

Result: Notts (163-6) beat Surrey (156-7) by seven runs

Notts take their place in Finals Day on Saturday after seeing off Surrey in a terrific quarter-final.

Jack Haynes' 75 not out was the bedrock of their 163-6, which was looking inadequate at 101-0 as Jason Roy and Laurie Evans were going strong.

But some tight bowling from George Linde and then a superb run out from sub fielder Freddie McCann to run out Roy turned the game.

From there, the new batters struggled as the run-rate climbed with Olly Stone finishing the job with an excellent last over, giving up only four runs from it.

  9. Record score from a Blast #9published at 19:42 BST

A brilliant bowling display by Yorkshire, backed up by some good catching (check out the particularly special one from Dom Bess) looked like it was taking Yorkshire to Finals Day ahead of defending champions Somerset.

Adam Lyth top scored for the home side with 64 off 40 whilst noone else reached 20.

Most thought Somerset would chase this easily enough, but regular breakthroughs from the home seamers meant that Yorkshire's spin trio were not even needed.

But Craig Overton kept battling, and his incredible season continues, due to be a father later this year too, he adds a T20 50 to his stellar CV and arguably Somerset's greatest quarter-final win ever too.

Five sixes, eight fours, strike rate 263 for Overton.
