    Somerset v Essex 215-3 - trail by 96

With only six overs to go before the new ball is due, Somerset call up Lewis Goldsworthy for a short spell.

Essex are currently reaping the benefits of a positive approach - especially from Charlie Allison - but they settle for a couple of singles in that over.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 15:11 BST

    Bess c Brown b Organ 23 (Hants v Yorkshire 283-9 - lead by 259)

    Much needed wicket for Hampshire.

It's a soft dismissal for Dom Bess, who looks to turn away a drag down leg side delivery from Felix Organ but can only feather one behind the stumps to Ben Brown who makes a simple catch.

Last man in for Yorkshire, Ben Coad.

  3. Postpublished at 15:11 BST

    Leicestershire 232-9 v Glamorgan - lead by 231

This has been a frustrating 10th wicket partnership, worth currently 16, which Glamorgan are struggling to break at the moment.

Josh Hull has been watchful at one end while letting Tom Scriven add runs to Leicestershire's total - it is a dynamic which is working for the home side right now.

  4. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 15:10 BST

    Derbyshire v Durham 150-1 - lead by 277

Back-to-back sixes from Ben McKinney who goes down town and hammers Shoaib Bashir back over his head to move onto 89 not out.

That also brings up Durham's 150 and the 150 partnership between McKinney and Will Rhodes.

  5. Postpublished at 15:08 BST

    Hants v Yorkshire 283-8 - lead by 259

A powerful pull shot through deep mid-wicket from George Hill races to the boundary and sees him move to 34 not out.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 15:07 BST

    Malik c Simpson b Unadkat 16 (Warks 25-2 - target 203)

    Both Warwickshire openers gone.

No idea what Zen Malik was trying to do there - leave it or dab it to third man - but he only succeeds in edging Jaydev Unadkat to the keeper.

New Zealander Will Young is in at four for the Bears, who need another 178 to win.

  7. 50 runs

for Charlie Allisonpublished at 15:06 BST

    Somerset v Essex 212-3 - trail by 99

There's that Charlie Allison reverse sweep again and for the third time it brings him four off Archie Vaughan.

A more elegant approach next ball as he steps down the pitch and drives to the long-off boundary.

Allison's 50 arrives from 88 balls as he unfurls the reverse for the second time in the over and once again it brings him four.

It's risky - but highly entertaining.

  8. Postpublished at 15:05 BST

    Surrey 1-0 v Notts (Target: 329)

We are underway in the fourth innings of this intriguing match, and Surrey's chase.

Brett Hutton is tight with the ball in his opening over, from which Rory Burns took a single.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 15:05 BST

    Milnes lbw b Higgins 6 (Middlesex v Kent 204-8 - lead by 305)

Ryan Higgins hits Matt Milnes on the pads and pleads for an LBW and he is rewarded!

Milnes had moved across his stumps a touch and that probably does for him.

Kent have lost 4-13 and hopes of a 350-run lead are fading fast.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Will Rhodespublished at 15:05 BST

    Derbyshire v Durham 136-1 - lead by 263

Will Rhodes turns one into the legside for a couple and that brings up his 50.

The 31-year-old left-hander raises his bat for a half-century that has come off 92 balls as his side have taken complete control of this one.

  11. Postpublished at 15:00 BST

    Somerset v Essex 197-3 - trail by 114

James Rew is having a difficult day behind the stumps.

Archie Vaughan finds turn and bounce and Rew is unable to take the ball up by his left shoulder - a couple of byes for Essex.

  12. Postpublished at 14:58 BST

    Warks 17-1 v Sussex - target 203

Slightly too full from Jaydev Unadkat and that's a stylish cover drive from Zen Malik, which brings him four runs.

Dan Mousley is his new partner following the dismissal of Rob Yates.

  13. Durham lead by over 250published at 14:58 BST

    Derbyshire v Durham 125-1 - lead by 252

A crunching pull shot through mid-wicket by Will Rhodes sees him move on to 47 not out and Durham's lead move past the 250-mark.

Rhodes' partnership with Ben McKinney is now worth 125 after Alex Lees was dismissed with the first ball of the innings.

  14. Yorkshire lead by 250published at 14:55 BST

    Hants v Yorkshire 275-8 - lead by 251

George Hill squeezes one through mid-wicket for two and that sees Yorkshire's lead move on to 250.

A single in the following over by Dom Bess means the ninth-wicket partnership is now worth 50.

  15. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 14:54 BST

    Somerset v Essex 193-3 - trail by 118

Fearless stuff from Charlie Allison, who takes a couple of paces forward and hits Jack Leach straight down the ground for a maximum.

There is a short delay while the ball is retrieved and the next one forces Allison to defend.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14:54 BST

    Patel c Toole b Crane 1 (Leicestershire 216-9 v Glamorgan - lead by 215)

Another wicket for Glamorgan, who now only need one more to bat again.

Ajaz Patel looks to go big when taking on Mason Crane's leg spin, but his leading edge simply pops up to Ray Toole.

This game, with Leicestershire's current lead as it is, feels as though it is in the balance.

  17. Postpublished at 14:53 BST

    Derbyshire v Durham 117-1 (lead by 244)

Shoaib Bashir is into his fourth over for Durham, currently on figures of 0-10.

With Durham going at a rate of just under four-an-over, Ben McKinney has moved onto 66 not out while Will Rhodes is seven runs short of his half-century with the pair looking perfectly set.

If the visitors keep this up, a Durham declaration may be on the cards in the final session of the day you feel.

  18. 50 runs

50 for Ricardo Vasconcelospublished at 14:52 BST

    Lancashire v Northants 75-0 - lead by 222

A crisp punch through the covers gets three runs for Ricardo Vasconcelos as he runs hard and that is an ultra-positive half-century.

It's come off 48 balls and it's his first of the season. Although every time he has reached 50 this season, he has gone on to three figures.

You would not bet against this becoming century number four.

  19. wicket

NOTTS ALL OUT FOR 306published at 14:51 BST

Hutton lbw b Lawes 14 (Surrey v Notts 306 all out - lead by 328)

Excellent ball by Tom Lawes, who picks up his first wicket of the innings - with its final ball.

He traps Brett Hutton plum in front for 14 and Notts now will have a go at defending 328.

  20. wicket

    Yates b Hunt 7 (Warks 11-1 - target 203)

    Now then.

Like James Coles earlier in the day, Rob Yates steps across his stumps and is bowled behind his legs by Sean Hunt as he tries to glance the ball fine.

Error of judgement - and early encouragement for Sussex.
