    If this Test is a success, can we make the case for more Tests being played in the Women's Ashes?

    What's frustrating is that there is clearly an appetite for Test cricket in England. Headingley got one test, Nottingham one Test. If you include this, London has three. If they put on more women's Tests, the crowds will come, especially with a dearth of northern Test matches in the men's game.

    The wayward bowling from Lauren Ball may have lured Yastika Bhatia into some complacency, but it really was a lovely delivery which would have troubled even the most settled of batters.

    In comes Jemimah Rodrigues and she is off the mark in style - swiveling on the spot to pull Lauren Filer through mid-wicket for consecutive boundaries.

    Lauren Bell has found 2.5º of swing this morning.

    Since ball-tracking data has been available, this is the second most swing a seamer has had with the new ball in the first session of the first day of a Test match.

    The most was Bell bowling at Taunton in 2022 with her old action, swinging it the other way with an average of 3.2º.

    It's a beauty. Over the wicket, using the slope, it nips down and Bhatia is expecting for it to continue in it's trajectory.

    Lovely delivery, hopefully that allows Lauren Bell to grow in her confidence.

    Having taken a bit of punishment so far this morning - and in this over - Lauren Bell sends down a corker of a delivery.

    The perfect line and length, with a little bit of movement, and it clatters into the stumps.

    I think the pitch will quicken up as the day and match wears on. It will be interesting to see if there's any degradation.

    I don't think we'll see the variable bounce because those initial indentations won't be there.

    Make that back-to-back boundaries. Mandhana rocks back and pulls a shorter delivery.

    It's been interesting. Lauren Filer has bowled well, disciplined and she's got the ball moving laterally.

    Lauren Bell has been searching for that movement but probably been a bit full at times. You don't mind that though, in the first session of a Test innings at Lord's.

    She didn't have the World Cup we thought she would.

    Smriti Mandhana plays a delightful drive through the covers for four. Textbook. Lauren Bell - guilty of overpitching - chuckles at her own mistake.

    Oh my. A horrendously wide delivery almost goes to first slip. Bell again offers too much width and Mandhana helps herself to another boundary.

    India's women didn't play their first Test until 1976. It was a six-match series against West Indies.

    The cameras pan to a punter turning up late to Lord's and trying to locate her seat.

    Unfortunately for her, she missed this landmark moment.

    I can see off stump, I can see middle stump. I think it's going down leg side. It's beautifully bowled by Lauren Bell though.

    Full and on the stumps from Lauren Bell and Yastika Bhatia clips it into the leg side. A nice shot but the ball halts to a stop courtesy of the slow outfield.

    But Bhatia does find a boundary by guiding the ball down to the third boundary.
