Wins for Somerset and Warwickshire, coupled with Notts being held to to a draw by Leics have made it very tight at the top of Division One as the title race hots up.

Somerset lead the way but there are only five points between the three sides as we enter the closing stages of the 2026 season. Surrey and Sussex also picked up wins in the top flight.

In Division Two, Durham look odds on to earn promotion after another impressive win - this time over Northants - to ensure they still have not tasted defeat this season.

Middlesex and Kent fans are also celebrating wins, as are the Gloucestershire faithful for just the second time this season with remarkably both those victories coming against Derbyshire.

Just a second win of the season for Gloucestershire is confirmed and it's Ollie Price again who fittingly has the last word with his ninth wicket in the match.

Brett Randell is the last man out and Derbyshire's brave resistance is broken - they couldn't quite see out the remaining overs.

After Gloucestershire's declaration it was Sai Kishore's devastating spell of bowling that ripped through Derbyshire's batting line-up and put his side in the position to take a hard-earned win.

Shoaib Bashir is the last man in for Derbyshire and is batting alongside Brett Randell.

It's a big ask for these two to see out the final seven overs in these circumstances but they might just do it!

They won't be playing any shots unless they have to, just blocking out with so many fielders around the bat.

Ollie Price gets the breakthrough and Derbyshire are now nine down and on the brink.

Glos are heading for just their second win of the season.

Jack Morley (3 from 23) and Brett Randell - yet to score from 29 balls - are fending off these deliveries at present. For how long can they hold out?

To give you an idea of the field placements currently being employed by Glos, normally the camera behind the stumps showing the bowler's deliveries to the batter contains about four players.

Currently, it's an absolute crowd scene in there with the vast majority of the home fielders very close in on the batter as they seek the last two wickets to secure victory.

Derbyshire lower order batters Jack Morley and Brett Randell have to face Sai Kishore now - not a prospect they will be relishing!

We still have 21 overs left in Bristol, more than enough for the home side to collect the remaining four wickets, but the current Derbyshire duo are digging in.

A bit of respite for Derbyshire's beleaguered batters with Martin Andersson and Ben Aitchison adding 30 together since the sixth wicket fell.

Unsurprisingly, Glos are persisting with the double spin of Kishore and Price.

Kishore has only conceded 11 runs from his 12 overs, taking five wickets.

Nottinghamshire captain Haseeb Hameed, unbeaten on 109, and Foxes skipper Ian Holland shake hands and the game ends in a draw.

Leicestershire's last-wicket pair of Tom Scriven and Josh Davey took their side to safety with an incredible last-wicket stand of 106.

Notts move up to second in Division One, four points behind leaders Somerset.

Leicestershire are seven points behind eighth-placed Yorkshire.
