Tom Banton has timed that really well. There's nothing the fielder could do and that's more like his performance from the other day.

  2. Eng 18-0published at 4 overs

England have had a bit of a slow start, but Tom Banton fires up the motor in the fourth over.

He picks up the first boundary of the match, edging Dilshan Madushanka out to the ropes at third. Eshan Malinga makes a bit of a mess of his fielding and lets the ball through.

Banton then makes that three consecutive fours, punching Madushanka down the ground and through the covers.

    That's a bit tight, Ben.

England's opener runs a quick single to cover off Asitha Fernando and the throw from the fielder scuds just past the non-striker's stumps.

Duckett would have been well short of his ground had that hit.

  4. Eng 3-0published at 2 overs

Having spent the first over at the non-striker's end, Ben Duckett gets back down there immediately, pushing Dilshan Madushanka's delivery to cover and taking advantage of a mis-field to run a single.

Two singles follow off the rest of the over - Sri Lanka are keeping England quiet initially.

I worry about the balance of this England side. There is a lot of pressure on the top four. All are capable of getting a big score but if we do lose wickets like in the last match we lack the batting depth. 50 overs is a long time.

I think one thing England did lose in the middle overs with the ball in hand against Pakistan was that intent to take wickets. You have to consistently take wickets through the middle, so that the team batting is not building momentum.

If they start scoring boundaries that makes you defensive as a bowler. It was intelligent from Pakistan and it was something England can learn from when they bat in this part of the world and when they have the ball in hand.

Here's how the tri-series table looks heading into today's game.

Pakistan top the standings have won the opening two games, beating Sri Lanka and England by 37 and 87 runs respectively.

After today's match the action switches to Lahore, where we'll have three more group games then a final between the top two sides.

England captain Harry Brook: "We were going to have a bat today, actually.

"It looks slightly drier and it looks slightly harder as well. Hopefully it's a good surface in the first innings, put some runs on the board and put them under some pressure."

On what went wrong in the loss to Pakistan: "Middle overs with the bat predominantly. We were probably a bit too careful against their spinners and we've just got to try and learn from that and put them under a little more pressure during the middle overs."

On changes to the side: "Liam Dawson, Josh Tongue are in for Sonny Baker and Adil Rashid."

Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis on his decision to bowl first: "I think a little bit of dew will come in the seond innings - that's why I've chosen to bowl first.

"We have to manage the first couple of overs and then I think we have to bat the whole innings. Normally [if] we chase 300 we have to bat the 50 overs.

"We made one change [Sachindu] Colombage is not playing, [Dunith] Wellalage is playing."

Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis has won the toss in Rawalpindi and his side are going to have a bowl.

England captain Harry Brook says his side would have had a bat anyway, having chased on Tuesday.

A big change in his line-up too with Adil Rashid rotated out of the team - that hasn't happened in quite a while.

Liam Dawson comes in, while Sonny Baker is rotated out for Josh Tongue.
