  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 8.5 overs

    Carter b Ecclestone 29 (Sco 64-3)

Ecclestone has another! England are on the charge.

Darcey Carter had been playing positively but it's one big shot too many, not too dissimilar to Kathryn Bryce's. She tries to swipe across the line which is always risky to Ecclestone, and she's cleaned up.

  2. dropped catch

Carter dropped on 26published at 8 overs

    Sco 60-2

Feels harsh to call this a drop as it was such a tough one, but Dani Gibson gets one hand to it in her follow-through as Darcey Carter drives firmly, but it bursts through her fingers.

Another economical over, though, and Scotland are falling behind.

Sophie Ecclestone reaches 150 T20I wickets, becoming only the third bowler from full member nations to achieve the milestone and the quickest to do so in terms of innings.

Quickest to 150 T20 International wickets by innings (Full member teams only):

    • Sophie Ecclestone - 108 innings
    • Megan Schutt - 122 innings
    • Deepti Sharma - 128 innings
  4. Sco 55-2published at 7 overs

    Target 201

One Bryce replaces another, as Kathryn's sister Sarah joins Darcey Carter, who is going well on 24 from 17 but has been starved of the strike a bit.

That's not a great shot from Kathryn Bryce. It's two games in a row now where she'll probably question the shot that she played.

Sophie Ecclestone hasn't had the success that she has in previous competitions, that will give her some confidence. She's been expensive at times, but that will put a smile on her face.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6.3 overs

    Bryce b Ecclestone 6 (Sco 53-2)

Sophie Ecclestone strikes in her first over!

Kathryn Bryce tries to take her on and misses a sweep, but with Ecclestone's metronomic accuracy there was only going to be one winner.

Scotland are stuttering a little after such a positive start.

From an England perspective, it's just about being patient. They'll want to be clinical, take wickets and win in a fashion that shows what they're about.

  8. Sco 52-1published at 6 overs

    Target 201

Charlie Dean closes out the powerplay tidily, conceding just singles.

But it's been a solid six overs for Scotland, considering the scale of the challenge. England were 51-1 at the end of their powerplay...

  9. Sco 47-1published at 5 overs

    Target 201

Scotland's captain and all-rounder Kathryn Bryce is in at three.

She's the backbone of their batting line-up and one of their most experienced players, but it's Darcey Carter who continues to take on Linsey Smith by driving down the ground for four more.

Charlie Dean celebrates the wicket of Katherine FraserImage source, Getty Images

It's been a good innings from Katherine Fraser.

What she's done so well today so far is go straight back down the ground, but that time it had spin and it just clipped the top of the stumps. She's had a good start for Scotland but she'll be frustrated with herself on that one.

Charlie Dean has got an incredible knack for taking wickets.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 3.4 overs

    Fraser b Dean 23 (Sco 38-1)

But England's skipper wins the battle!

Katherine Fraser attempts another sweep but misses, and Charlie Dean takes out leg stump.

Fraser's played brilliantly but she throws her head back in frustration.

  12. Sco 38-0published at 3.3 overs

Ooh, cracking work from Dani Gibson.

Katherine Fraser pulls firmly into the leg side and the ball is racing to the boundary, but Gibson intercepts and athletically hauls it back inside the ropes.

The next ball is down the leg side and helped on its way for four, though.

  13. Sco 32-0published at 3 overs

    Target 201

There's obviously a long way to go but this has been a brilliant start.

Lauren Bell starts well by conceding just two singles from her first five balls but the last is heaved down the ground for four by Darcey Carter.

  14. 6 runs

    Sco 26-0published at 2 overs

    Target 201

    Another!

Katherine Fraser clubs her second six, straight down the ground.

    Smith is under pressure.

That's the way you have to play Linsey Smith. We've seen so many players in this World Cup get out early by trying to sweep her. You just have to hit her down the ground like that though.

For Linsey Smith, it will just be about keeping the stumps into play.

  16. Sco 19-0published at 1.3 overs

Big fan of this intent from the Scottish openers, refusing to let England settle.

Darcey Carter whacks back-to-back fours off Linsey Smith.

  17. 6 runs

    Sco 11-0published at 1 over

    Target 201

And obviously, the next ball goes for six!

Cracking shot from Katherine Fraser as the ball sails over mid-wicket.

Well, it should've been taken really. It's a tough chance, not the easiest one to take.

  19. dropped catch

Fraser dropped on 0published at 0.5 overs

    Sco 5-0

They're always difficult running back, but Dani Gibson would back herself to take that.

It's skewed up in the air from Darcey Carter, and Gibson gets two hands to it as she charges back from extra cover but can't cling on. It bounces away for four too, just to really rub salt into the wound.

  20. Sco 1-0published at 0.1 overs

Nicely guided past point by Darcey Carter to get off the mark.
