Essex Women's wicket-keeper Amara Carr has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

The 32-year-old signed for Essex Women in 2025 as the women's county scene was restructured, having previously spent four seasons with Middlesex.

Carr has also represented London Spirit, Manchester Originals and Southern Brave in The Hundred.

Carr is currently recuperating from a serious leg injury she sustained against Somerset in the One-Day Cup in August which saw her stretchered off after slipping while attempting a second run.

"We have an ambitious group of players and I am looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together over the next couple of years," Carr told Essex's website., external

Essex Women's head coach Stephen Parry added: "She is a valuable asset to our team, bringing experience both on and off the field, alongside her strengths behind the stumps."
