They flew out of the blocks this afternoon with four runs in the opening inning and never really looked back despite a decent rally from the Astros.

Luisangel Acuna and Tristan Peters both score alongside Meidroth and the White Sox take a 7-3 lead.

Remember the Astros must win this game to keep the series and their season alive. As things stand the White Sox are heading to the Division Series.

  6. Astros leave bases loadedpublished at 00:04 BST 1 October

Chicago White Sox 4-3 Houston Astros

The Astros get themselves into position to at least move level in this game at the bottom of the fifth inning.

Jose Altuve is once again at the plate with men on all three bases, but this time he is unable to repeat the trick and his fly ball to right field is caught comfortably by Braden Montgomery.

The White Sox still lead but the Astros are pushing hard to turn this game around.

This is exactly why Jose Altuve is the King of the Postseason.

He swings to left field on a loose pitch from Sean Burke to eat further into the White Sox lead and give the Astros a real foothold in this game.

That is Altuve's 28th career post-season home run, moving him to within one of the all-time leader Manny Ramirez.

An incredible comeback win from the Phillies, who finish the job with an ABS challenge.

It means these two sides are going to have to play a deciding game on Thursday for a place in the Division Series.

Alec Bohm is the hero as his home run in the tenth inning proves to be the difference between the sides.

The Phillies looked dead and buried after Bryce Harper's error allowed the Braves to score two runs in the seventh.

But the Phillies fightback was built on back-to-back home runs from their star men Kyle Schwarber and Harper himself in the eighth.

Post-season baseball at its best - and we are only halfway through the night!

Bohm home run gives Phillies extra inning lead

This is now looking like one of the great fightbacks and something Phillies fans will remember for a long time.

Alec Bohm steps up with a huge solo home run to right field at the top of the tenth inning to give the Phillies a 4-3 lead.

They have come from nowhere to the brink of forcing a final-game decider in Atlanta tomorrow.

Suddenly Truist Park has gone very quiet. The Braves will have to score to keep this game alive.

  17. Phillies and Braves heading for extra inningspublished at 21:57 BST 30 September

    Philadelphia Phillies 3-3 Atlanta Braves

This game has had a bit of everything and in a way after what we've seen it is appropriate for it to go to extra innings.

Remember we will have the Chicago White Sox game at the Houston Astros as soon as this match has finished.

  18. Phillies score back-to-back home runs!published at 21:34 BST 30 September

Kyle Schwarber smashes solo home run for Phillies

    They are not finished yet!

The Phillies are fighting for their lives and their big men have stepped up at exactly the right moment.

First off, Kyle Schwarber launches a solo home run at the top of the eighth inning to cut the deficit to one.

    Media caption,

Harper makes it back-to-back jacks for the Phillies

Then Bryce Harper makes up for his fielding error just a few minutes ago with a massive home run of his own to make it 3-3.

What an unbelievable few minutes of post-season baseball! Out of nowhere the Phillies have squared things up. We are all level in Atlanta.

  19. Braves take the lead!published at 21:20 BST 30 September

    Philadelphia Phillies 1-3 Atlanta Braves

    Media caption,

Braves lead after Bryce Harper error

Advantage to the home side now.

Drake Baldwin arrows a fly ball out to right field. There is a chance for Bryce Harper to make the catch but he misjudges it and can't make the play, which allows Sean Murphy to score from second base and give the Braves a 2-1 lead.

Worse still for the Phillies the bases are loaded with just one out.

Matt Olson does his job and delivers a sacrifice fly to right field to allow Ha-Seong Kim to score and make it 3-1.

Phillies pitcher Cristopher Sanchez is taken out of the game as a result.

The Braves have taken a massive step towards the Division Series, but the Phillies now need something big to keep their season alive.

  20. Braves miss out on big chance to take leadpublished at 21:01 BST 30 September

    Media caption,

Braves miss big chance to re-take lead as Phillies turn double play

That feels like it could be a turning point.

The Braves have the bases loaded at the bottom of the sixth inning.

They just have to avoid the double play but Michael Harris II gets it all wrong and grounds into first baseman Alec Bohm.

It allows the Phillies to turn a double play at home base and first to get themselves out of a big hole and avoid giving up any runs.

Will that be one the Braves regret?
