Richard became the object of many a woman's desire with his sizzling portrayal of John Thornton in North & South.
His most famous role to date is as Sir Guy of Gisborne in Robin Hood. He was a regular in the fifth series of Cold Feet, and starred alongside Brenda Blethyn and Alun Armstrong in Between The Sheets.
Richard has guest-starred in The Vicar of Dibley, Doctors, Casualty and The Inspector Lynley Mysteries. Richard is also starring in Strike Back, an adaptation of ex-SAS soldier Chris Ryan's novel.
