Saint, Sinner, Freedom Fighter, Leader, Follower, Symbol of the Divine Feminine… Mary Magdalene is one of the most controversial and significant figures in Christian history. But what does it mean to walk in her footsteps today? Journalist Natasha Serlin, embarks on a personal journey to connect with her legacy and explore how it resonates with her, here, now, today. She traces Mary's path through southern France, beginning at the spot where she is believed to have first arrived: Saintes-Marie-de-la-Mer, and continuing to the cave of Saint Baume where she is said to have spent the final 30 years of her life. As Natasha walks, she becomes conscious of her presence, imagining her processing the loss of her beloved, enduring exile, and spreading a message of love, healing, empowerment and unity. For Natasha, this journey has echoes of her own personal struggles: the loss of her mother, a divorce, leaving the family home, and more recently navigating the death of a dear friend. As she follows Marys's footsteps, she explores the physical terrain and her own inner landscape - open to whatever revelations may come.
