
Fleeing from Home

I remember it being midway into the summer hols, the day me and my two elder sisters ran out of our house in fear of our Mother. It was building up to this for the last several days, the tense feeling since our Mum had gotten ill again. But it was on this day that we were so frightened that we had to leave the house we use to be so safe in, as we were scared of what would happened if we stayed there.
The day itself began peacefully if filled with a nauseous, stomach tightening fear is all I can say on my part I don't know how my sister, Carrie who shared the bedroom with me was feeling at the time. We hadn't good night's sleep in ages as when Mum was ill with her mental illness she would stay up till the wee hours of the morning playing her music loudly! To this day hearing Suspicious Minds by Elvis leaves me a bit queasy. We were both too petrified to leave our room in case we were seen by Mum who left the living room door wide open so she could see who was coming and going from her chair positioned next to the door. ...
