Ethiopian government declares ceasefire in the Tigray region
The federal government has accepted a ceasefire according to the state broadcaster, EBC.
The announcement from the Ethiopian government came as witnesses reported anti-government troops in the streets of Tigray's capital, Mekelle.
In Rome foreign ministers from more than 40 countries meet to discuss the growing threat of the Islamic State (IS) group in Africa.
And, a new port has been officially opened in Berbera in the self-declared republic of Somaliland, which could help boost trade between the Horn of Africa and wider region.
