It’s fair to say Amber Gordon has made an impression in Ambridge since her arrival in the summer of 2025. Visiting smitten George Grundy in prison, her strong personality and forthright opinions got her off on the wrong foot with George’s mum Emma. The rocky ride continued after George’s release, as Amber displayed her obvious disapproval of what she deemed Susan and Neil Carter’s unfair treatment of their grandson.
“Not smart enough, not pretty enough at school. Not till I found out how to look out for myself.”
Amber sees things in black and white and won’t tolerate anything she perceives to be an injustice. Viewed by some as outspoken and brash, Amber nevertheless has an unexpectedly warm and contemplative side. Her quirky charm, quick brain and sense of humour have won over several villagers, notably George’s grandma Clarrie, for whom Amber maintains a healthy respect.
Once she settled into life in Ambridge Amber’s initial hard edges began to rub off, and she and Emma developed a mutual understanding. The same can’t be said of Amber’s relationship with her own parents, Anne Marie and Bill, which remains complex at best.
