Youth group providing safe space for young people

Breakout Youth in Southampton supports LGBTQ+ young people across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, improving emotional well being, engagement, and inclusion within the community.

They're finalists in the Community Group category in the BBC Radio Solent Make a Difference Awards for 2026.

The youth charity manager Zoe Grant joined BBC Radio Solent's Katie Martin, alongside member Mac, to explain more about what Breakout Youth does.
