The Last Voyage of HMS London
A royal warship, a deadly explosion, and a mystery hidden beneath the Thames.
It helped bring King Charles II home from exile and restore the monarchy. But just five years later, HMS London was sailing through the Thames Estuary near Southend when disaster struck. A catastrophic explosion tore through the warship, killing hundreds of men and sending one of England's most important ships to the seabed off the Essex coast, where it lay undiscovered for 360 years.
