Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 27 in B flat from Germany

Mark Forrest introduces an afternoon of great music including performances from the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and chamber music from across Bavaria.

Mark Forrest presents an afternoon of exceptional music-making from Germany, bringing together the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra with chamber music and song from the Feldafing and Goldmund Festivals.

The programme opens with a Haydn symphony performed by the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under Manfred Honeck. Sir Simon Rattle then conducts the orchestra in Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat major, with Imogen Cooper as soloist, before returning for Poulenc’s vibrant ballet suite Les Biches.

From the Feldafing Music Festival comes music for flute and piano by Paul Schoenfield while the Goldmund Festival is represented by tenor Julian Prégardien and pianist Anna Gebhardt in Schumann’s much-loved song cycle Dichterliebe.

Also, pianist Richard Goode brings his distinctive insight and musicianship to Beethoven’s final piano sonata.
