On today’s show another chance to hear Saturday night’s performance of Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique with the National Youth Orchestra conducted by Thomas Ades at the Royal Albert Hall. Sticking with the BBC Proms, we have more from Saturday afternoon at the Bristol Beacon, with Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Adam Hickox.
From Verbier, we’ll hear Marc Bouchkov playing Bach, plus the trio of Pierre Génisson, Timothy Ridout and Sunwook Kim playing Bruch’s 8 Pieces. Plus - the music of Nicolas Gombert in a programme of Music for the Imperial Coronation of Charles V, at this year’s Granada Early Music Festival.
