Episode 11
It’s wheelies all round as auctioneer Izzie finds several star lots among Cheryl’s late-husband’s collections. And restorer Robin does Mr Fixit proud.
After many happy years of married life, Cheryl’s beloved husband Pete passed away just a few months ago. A great collector and skilled with his hands, Pete was affectionately known by his family as Mr Fixit. But sadly, after surviving a stroke at a young age, Pete went on to suffer several years of poor health, and many of his ambitious projects remain incomplete. Leaving behind a number of partly restored motor vehicles, as well as an overwhelming amount of potentially valuable toys and novelty items, it’s time for a fresh start. But for Cheryl, who also lost her mum last year, the task of clearing out is more than she can take right now. So, she’s asked auctioneer Izzie Balmer and restorer Robin Johnson to help her.
It’s transport galore for Izzie and Robin as they uncover a Velocette bicycle, a tricycle, a boat and even a scratch-build 4x4. Robin turns his specialist skills to an early e-bike, while Izzie hunts for treasures inside.
At auction, a Royal Albert County Rose tea, coffee and dinner service wows the crowds, selling for over £600, and all the money raised mounts up to be shared among Pete’s family. A fitting tribute to Mr Fixit.
