High 'Steaks' and Happy Holidays
Bee and Lauren hunt for treasure at a retired butcher’s home in Leeds. Sniffing out a collection of Troika pottery, they help twice-widowed Michael relive a special family holiday.
Auctioneer Bee Harford and restorer Lauren Wood chop to it in Leeds, helping retired butcher Michael, whose life has been turned upside down not once but twice. After losing his first wife Denise to a liver condition when their daughter was still young, he went on to lose his second wife, Cathy, years later when she was diagnosed with leukaemia. Michael is surrounded by a lifetime of memories in the house that he shared with Cathy. But now battling with his own health struggles, he feels it is time to part with some of his collections to help make new precious memories.
Bee uncovers some prized curios and family heirlooms which are a cut above the rest, including a World War I sweetheart pin cushion, a collection of Troika pottery and some signed Manchester United football shirts from the golden 1990s era. Meanwhile, Lauren works her magic on an alto saxophone and a Chesterfield-style office chair in need of a spruce-up.
Every item sold will help Michael recreate a well-remembered family holiday he once had with his daughter and Denise. This time, he hopes to take his daughter and her young family along for the ride to Orlando, Florida. And in honour of Cathy, Michael also hopes to raise some funds for a charity that lies close to his heart.
Will the bidders 'steak' a claim on Michael’s items at auction, and will the money raised 'meat' his expectations? The proof is in the black pudding.
