It's carnival time, one of the biggest celebrations of the summer season In Hamilton. Community Officer PC Chris Douglas is preparing for the island’s annual parade, swapping uniform for a handmade, colouful costume, while his colleagues stay on duty to keep the celebrations running smoothly as thousands line the streets to dance and party.
Acting Inspector Tiffany Caisey and Sergeant Mervin Homer move from roadside stops to an unusual call at Dockyard, where a missing phone leads them to a cruise ship packed with 9,000 passengers and the tricky task of locating it on board.
In central Hamilton, Sergeant Helen McHugh, K9 handler PC Robin MacNab and her dog Roni head into a park linked to drug activity tracking down a man, who when searched, reveals he’s in possession of a crack pipe and associated drug paraphernalia. Coastguard Corporal Quentin Burgess and Private Matthew Stephens are patrolling the waters, carrying out checks ahead of a busy maritime weekend.
In the the run-up to carnival, Officer Chris teams up with PC Krishna Singh and PC Oba Swan to offer crime prevention advice to locals, a reminder of the close community ties that shape island life.
