Caring Matters
The Rev Kate Bottley explores the joys and challenges of being a carer by joining a special train that aims to give a fun day out for people living with dementia and their carers.
The Rev Kate Bottley marks the launch of the BBC’s Caring Matters season, a collection of programmes dedicated to shining a light on our country’s carers, by exploring the joys and challenges of being a carer and to see how faith fits in.
Kate is in Whitby to catch the special forget-me-not train that aims to give a joyful day out for people living with dementia and their carers. As well as joining in the fun and singing, Kate hears about the emotional, physical and spiritual challenges of looking after loved ones and how faith can be a huge help.
We also meet Kaddy Thomas, who not only provides round-the-clock care for her son Elijah, but draws on her faith to support hundreds of other carers too.
With music to reflect God’s love, strength and faithfulness.
