Faith in Lincoln
Sean Fletcher visits the historic city of Lincoln to explore its faith and worship music, including a thriving network of churches with a total congregation of over 2,000 people.
Sean Fletcher is in the historic city of Lincoln to explore its faith and worship music, from its ancient cathedral to a church established just 40 years ago.
Sean visits Alive Church in the centre of the city and learns from its founders, Stuart and Irene Bell, that it was established four decades ago from their front room and has grown to a thriving network of six churches across Lincolnshire with a combined congregation of over 2,000.
Sean then hears the extraordinary faith journey of the founders’ son, the worship pastor, Dave Bell, who at the age of 16 was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and believes he survived through the healing power of Jesus.
We also join a night light cafe in the city, a free service offering after-hours help to those who need support through tough times. It was the idea of Stacey Marriott, who harnesses God’s love to help others in need.
With music from across Lincoln, including modern worship from Alive Church.
